The name is a little misleading, as the +1/+1 counters only truly become a factor once Corpsejack Menace comes into play. One of two sacrifice-based decks, this deck is concerned with the number of creatures in the graveyard rather than the act of sacrifice. Either through his ability or direct damage, Jarad will be your primary player killer. It will often be better to sacrifice a high power creature for one hit to all opponents, than to count on it to live long enough for multiple attacks. Rot Farm Skeleton, Veilborn Ghoul, and Flowering Lumberknot make for great ammunition, as do creatures with dredge. Speaking of dredge, unless you are low on lands or your hand is getting sparse, dredge. Dredge early, dredge often. Treasured Find, Life from the Loam, and Eternal Witness will retrieve cards better used elsewhere. If you draw one or more planeswalkers, consider leaving creatures on the field for defense until the walkers have earned their keep (and to clear a path for Vraska the Unseen's assassins). The deck may struggle against control decks or those full of tokens and hordes of critters, but as long as Jarad can still activate his ability you don't need to actually attack.
