That's an awesome card! I'll get it today when I run to the card shop. Thanks for pointing it out.

I feel like the deck needs an extra wrath card. I only have Crux Of Fate but Blasphemous Act or something would be a nice addition. Decree of Annihilation and Obliterate are good but considered unfun. Besides, one of my deck's strength's is how fast it recovers after a board wipe. Can't do that without lands though.

How come you have only a maybe board, but not an actual decklist?
June 24, 2016 6:26 a.m.
I was in the middle of redoing the deck list after I swapped in some sideboard cards I think will stay in. Deck should be reposted Monday
June 24, 2016 3:03 p.m.
I know I have a lot of target removal but I primarily play 1 v 1 at the moment and one deck I go up against the most is a Avacyn, Angel of Hope Angel tribal and it's quite difficult to deal with all the fliers and once she's out I can only exile, force-sac, or Pack's Disdain her.
June 28, 2016 12:49 a.m.
Going with red against indestructibility is doable, really. I'll post some more budget-ish options for you to consider. You already have chaos warp, you could also include Burn from Within, and I'd go for In Garruk's Wake, or Inferno, or Languish or Magmaquake instead of some of the point removal such as Wrecking Ball. Also, include Ruby Medallion instead of Ashnod's Altar, and a Worn Powerstone or Rakdos Cluestone and such.
June 28, 2016 5:44 a.m.
Nim Deathmantle + Ashnod's Altar + any creature that adds 2 or more creature tokens into play = infinite goblins. Give them all haste and you got yourself one heck of a party.

Brilliant! That's exacty the type of graveyard wankery I was hoping to include in this deck. Thanks a ton SirFowler!!

Nice deck! If you're still looking for protection from flying, Homura, Human Ascendant could be nice, you seem to have lots of ways in your deck to destroy his mortal form and let him ascend.
Other possibly useful cards:
Token production: Chancellor of the Forge, Goblin Assault, Goblin Rabblemaster, Weirding Shaman, Goblinslide, Skirk Ridge Exhumer, and Marsh Flitter.
Goblin utility and anthems: Ib Halfheart, Goblin Tactician, Patron of the Akki, Earthblighter, Tar Pitcher, Skirk Drill Sergeant, Goblin Assassin, Goblin General, and Lowland Oaf.

Also, some defense, with cards like Koskun Falls, could be helpful.

I don't want my Mad Auntie, Goblin Warchief, Frogtosser Banneret, Krenko, Mob Boss, etc (the "Lords") necessarily attacking every round so Goblin Assault and Goblin Rabblemaster are right out. I considered them but I think they're better (great, even) for mono-red and 60-card decks. Especially with Ib Halfheart! I like the goblin token generating sorceries and instants but I feel like there isn't room for them without sacrificing utility. EVERY goblin-token-generating instant and sorcery (literally) was in the beta version of the deck. That's where the Avalanche idea (from the deck name) came from. Marsh Flitter, Chancellor of the Forge, and Weirding Shaman were originally in (or considered) too but I felt they had to be cut for space reasons. The Weirding Shaman seems way too expensive for his ability.
Tutoring out Krenko and using Boggart Mob have been extremely good so far in my playtesting. That said, the biggest magic expert in my group of friends said I should pursue more token wankery but I just don't know what's worth cutting. A creature or two perhaps since I have so many good tutors but it's starting to get harder and harder to cut creatures. I still have five or so creatures I absolutely have to buy and somehow squeeze in.
I thought a lot about Ib Halfheart but he's on the backburner. Seems good since I can get goblins out of the graveyard relatively easy and throw my tokens away willy-nilly. I would definitely like to buy him and experiment with his ability. I wonder if there are any red and /or black cards that allow one to alter the blocking order of my opponent... I know there's a bunch in white.
Patron of the Akki is one I glanced over but now that I've reread it and played my deck I think it might actually be useful. I wish it had flying!! What the hell kind of spirit wouldn't?! I have so many good goblins though, plus all the goblin-only effects, so it's hard to add non-goblins. Goblin General is not so hawt since I have to attack with him and he'd be a target. Goblin Assassin is in my pseudo-sideboard--the force-sac ability would be useful against much of what I've been going up against lately (and, ideally, I'll have bodies to spare for saccing).
I was originally thinking that running some sort of Goblin Spy + Skirk Drill Sergeant combo would be fun but I didn't think there was room when it came down to crunch-time. Perhaps in a mono-red goblin deck. I haven't seen Earthblighter before. I have a Shivan Harvest in. Perhaps doubling up wouldn't be so bad. Slowing down my opponent has definitely won me games already.
Tar Pitcher is butt. I have a balla' Goblin Sharpshooter in and I have a Goblin Fireslinger in my red-card collection (a.k.a ZipLoc freezer bag).
Koskun Falls is awesome! Goblinslide is one I am considering re-inserting and will consider more now. Lowland Oaf was one I poo-poo'd early but now that I'm having flier problems he might be a good remedy...
Homura, Human Ascendant is a brilliant suggestion. Consider it purchased!!
Thanks a bajillion!

Not a problem, hope these suggestions work out well for you! Good call on the lords, you should protect them. Krenko and Boggart Mob are crazy, for sure. Good luck deciding which cards to keep and which to cut!
As far as Ib Halfheart, Goblin Tactician and influencing your opponents' choice in blocking goes, there are a few cards that can help. Invasion Plans gets all of your attackers blocked, and in the exact manner you want (preserving your lords if they attack), but your opponents can choose a very bad blocking arrangement for you when they attack (especially if they want to kill off one or more of the lords), so maybe that isn't the best card. Melee allows you to completely decide how your opponents will block, but any unblocked creatures deal no damage, so this is great if Ib Halfheart is out, but not if you want to hit your opponents directly. Raging River and Stand or Fall divide up who can block, but you don't get to decide who does block. Retreat to Valakut lets you eliminate some blockers, but I suspect this isn't what you want with Ib Halfheart, Goblin Tactician. Goblin War Cry and Eunuchs' Intrigues make it so that one of your opponents can only block with one creature, and so they may feel blackmailed into blocking one of the goblins. I'm not sure if any of these do what you want them to. The keyword Provoke would be useful in this context, but it's only one one goblin, Goblin Grappler, so not super great for a combo with Ib Halfheart, Goblin Tactician.
Haha well since almost half of the creatures on Kamigawa were spirits, I think some of them would have to give up flying to finding better evolutionary niches and so forth. I'm not sure the exact reason behind many of the Kamigawa spirits being earthbound, though.
Happy deck building!

Haha my friend threw together a Zombie deck, full of great/expensive cards like Cabal Coffers after his Avacyn, Angel of Hope kept getting stolen via Ritual of the Machine (what an all-star card that has become! It was in the original build and I'm so glad) or Chaos Warped back to the zone. Aligned Hedron Network won me a game too. He completely annihilated my deck 0-3. Almost seemed like my shtick but better.
Not a big deal though! Can't win 'em all. He's been playing for years and years and has quite the grand collection. Just like with car engines, there's no replacement for displacement and my gobbos are a more like turbo-tuner economy car and his decks are actual sports cars.
Plus, EDH 1v1 isn't the best showcase for how decks do.
Once I buy my Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker, Goblin Chieftain, Goblin Wizard, Goblin Chirurgeon, Dolmen Gate, Coat of Arms, Shared Animosity, Door of Destinies, Warren Instigator, and Grave Pact (and put in Grave Betrayal) I think my deck will be noticeably leveled-up :D

Also, I had my first Burn at the Stake win. Opponent had 73 life (goddamn angels) and I did 75 damage. Made me smile.

Yeah some upgrades can be pretty useful! Sound like some pretty intense games, especially with such a high life total!

Thank you for your input, Gattison, and your vote!
It is one of the swaps for Pack's Disdain, which is in due to my local meta having several regenerators and indestructibles I have to frequently encounter and deal with.
It was in the very first build and still resides in the physical side deck. While token proliferation is the primary theme of the deck, I never found Goblin War Strike or Massive Raid or Dogpile as helpful as having other utility cards. It felt like I would have them long before my numbers were significant or never have them once the board was boggart-flooded. In that sense they're kind of in "win more" territory anyway. Just attacking with the gobbos, ideally with an anthem or four, tends to do the trick much better. Burn at the Stake is a better win-con and won't be leaving the deck soon. Spot-removing threats with targetted direct damage cards like these also isn't super-reliable and there are already several cards that do just that or more and/or better. It just isn't that common for direct player damage to swing a game where attacking wouldn't. Propaganda, Koskun Falls, Ghostly Prison, Dissipation Field, etc... sure, Goblin War Strike will break a stalemate. I'll burn that bridge when I get to it.
I feel that the cards shine more (and quite brightly) in a Krenko-headed mono-red deck that really triple-downs on tokens or in a 60-card deck where the damage is more significant.
July 22, 2016 8:34 p.m. Edited.
yeah ok, I see your point. I'll stop twisting your arm and won't force you to use Goblin War Strike. =P
On another note, I've had many conversations with myself about Burn at the Stake. I recently took it out of my own Krenko-headed, mono- deck that really triple-downs on tokens, lol, but now I think I may try to squeeze it back in. I like the card, but I've actually never drawn it, believe it or not. I personally really like Goblin War Strike, Massive Raid and Mob Justice (which I use instead of Dogpile for my mono-red deck, but you seem to have a slightly different approach than me, so that's cool.
Before I go, since you seem to have some recursion going on, what about Gamble for your deck? might work for you.
July 23, 2016 6:41 p.m.
Gamble is an excellent draw/tutor card for red. You're absolutely right that with my graveyard recursion its downside is heavily mitigated--I hadn't put that together! It is, unfortunately, out of budget. It is on the mental short-list, for sure. I won't be able to afford $10+ upgrades until I get financially recovered from Burning Man in late fall or early winter. I'd love to rock it and Wheel of Fortune, along with Phyrexian Arena and the other tutor cards together. Late-game card draw is definitely an issue and a weakness of this deck. Thank you!

With Bravado I got Wort up to +83/+83 tonight. Didn't win me the game but the 50+ 3/3 tokens sure did! Opponent had a Eldrazi Monument so my ~110/4 Goblin Piledriver couldn't land either.
Gods, this deck is so fun when it's rolling. Opening-hand Krenko, Mob Boss is so delightful.

Just got a Underworld Connections, need to squeeze it in. Thoughts?

If you do end up running Grave Pact, Grave Betrayal is amazing with it and a sacrifice outlet.
