This deck is the result of me constantly playing against a much more magic-experienced friend who greatly favors Blue Control decks. I started playing this game against control, and it was always a great pain in the ass being unable to do well against all those counters. Today I know how to play against this kind of strategy, but that didn't stop from making a deck SPECIALLY made to end his game, haha.
The deck is mostly aggro-focused, and it has some key cards to make it run against most blue control I could find:
Spellbreaker Behemoth
: A 5/5 for 4 mana wich cannot be countered. Plus it greatly benefits from
Boartusk Liege
and Runes of the Deus by being dual color :)
Vexing Shusher: No comments on this card. Blue decks just love it.
Price of Glory: A great counter against those annoying players who insist in casting out of their turns. Its funny to watch people getting crazy about countering and losing 2 lands or allowying a
Deus of Calamity
on the battlefield.
Guttural Reponse: It's a counter against counters. That costs 1 mana.
Bloodmark Mentor,
Tattermunge Witch
,
Scuzzback Scrapper
and Boggart Ram-Gang: The aggro-part of the deck. Nice early droppers, the first strike from mentor, trample from the witch and the passive Wither are great for the meelee combat
Rancor and Runes of the Deus: Buffs for the creatures, the runes combined with
Deus of Calamity
are just insane.
Boartusk Liege
: A global buffer, specially considering that Bloodmark Mentor is the only creature that's not dual color.
Giant Baiting: This being pauper really amuses me. It has the potential to do 8 damage in the third turn even if I come up with crappy creatures only.
