"As I was wading through the swamps my fears focused on
Bog Serpent
s lurking below and the
Marsh Gas
overtaking me. When I saw a bulbous frog creature staring at me with the oddest look in his eyes. When he started charging at me I laughed, 'is he serious?' I thought, and readied a simple Shock just in case he was. I will never forget what happened next. As he approached he started glowing, and lightning burst from he's hands. in surprise I tried hitting him with my Shock, but I missed... I never miss. I summoned a
Wall of Roots
to give me a second to regain my composure. It got very angry and trampled right over my wall like it was not even there it's muscles were huge at this point and it struck me with such force I was knock back several yards. Before I even hit the ground I drew an Oblivion Ring in the air and flung it, but it seemed to 'slip' right off of him. Terror sunk deep into my soul as it was standing over me once again his blows were strong and in rapid succession... I was done for. Then I remembered my Nevinyrral's Disk. I fumbled for it between blows, nearly dropping it into the murk, I opened it. Everything was sucked into the disk... even my consciousness as it seems. When I woke up, I was here and weeks had gone by. The
Master Healer
says that over time my body will recover... but I will never get the image of that tongue out of my nightmares."
A Bogle deck with an aggroier red twist!!!
(I don't think "aggroier" is a word)
It might not be tier 1... but I think it is the best most well rounded deck you can build for about $100. It can compete with some of the best decks out there. Please +1 if you like it too.
Consistently kills on turn 4. It might not be quite as fast as a stupid GU Infect deck... but it does not crumble to a well timed removal.
The mana base is quick and consistent. It uses my own life as a source of power to keep the land under $50.
The deck depends on getting a single hexproof guy out, namely
Slippery Bogle
,
Gladecover Scout
or the slower but evasive Silhana Ledgewalker.
A mess of one drop auras that add +2 power such as
Dust Corona
,
Furor of the Bitten
, and the ever popular Rancor allow me to swing for 5 buy turn 2 and another 11 by turn 3.
The king of the deck is obviously Ethereal Armor, if I can get 1 or more out things get out of hand fast.
Madcap Skills: add some more power as well as evasion.
Taste for Mayhem
: the least of the +2/+0 aura's I rarely get the hellbent +2 but when I do it is cool.
Hyena Umbra
to protect my guy from non targeting removal.
Lightning Bolt
and
Oppressive Rays
: shuts down utility creatures, blockers and other aggro decks trying to out pace me.
Side board:
Fists of Ironwood: protects my beater from force sac.
Spirit Link: to counter burn and other aggro decks that want to out pace me. flop their clock a bit.
1 more
Hyena Umbra
to further protect my guy from non targeting removal.
Nature's Claim: for crucial enchantments or artifacts like 8 rack or Blood Moon and vs affinity
Boros Charm: to give more double strike and to protect my auras from cards like Back to Nature
Rest in Peace to stop lots of decks: Delve, reanimate, self mill, etc.
If they weren't $30 a pop I'd put in 3 Daybreak Coronets I'd take out 2
Dust Corona
s, 1 Madcap Skills and 1. To support the WW I'd add 4
Mana Confluence
over the
Karplusan Forest
.
