Sideboard

Maybeboard

Grixis-colored deck featuring Nicol Bolas. High amounts of control and kill spells make up this deck. No creature presence. Meant to break up combo-heavy decks. The main engine runs with Mystic Retrieval giving two Snapcaster Mage effects without a creature. It essentially serves as a copy of whatever spells I decide is needed most. The risk is that it's slower, but should never run out of power once sufficient mana is available.

Aside from the primary win condition, including Liliana and Nephalia Drownyard as secondary win conditions.

I couldn't help but put in a singleton of Runic Repetition just in case a game drags on a very long time, as it ends up generating a limitless recursion when combined with Mystic Retrieval and can still be useful for other flashback spells.

Sideboard/Maybeboard:

Clearwater Goblet: Helps against burn and aggro decks to pull back out of kill range mid-late game (Too expensive for early game). Slightly more valuable when considering the Gilded Lotus already mainboard.

Curse of Death's Hold : This helps against token generation, weak hexproof creatures, and generally a lot of utility creatures become a non-issue with 1 less life.

Cyclonic Rift: Meant for decks with non-creature permanents that are too dangerous to ignore. Nice generic sweeper delay. Works very well against tokens.

Engineered Explosives: Pretty versatile killling, especially when I work with very few of my own permanents before the win condition comes out. Similar function as the Rift, but it destroys instead of bouncing. Good for planeswalkers, tokens, and decks with curves heavy in one cost.

Molten Rain: For use against 3+ color decks that seem weak on fixing, or against the decks with lots of land fetching without a high number of actual lands to fetch, like some RDW and weenie decks.

Rakdos Charm: For flexible use against any kind of recursion/reanimation tactics (like this deck has). Combine this with Vandalblast, and affinity has a hard time.

Slaughter Games: Great fun against combo decks, especially when used with Mystic Retrieval. Can be used if the opponent relies too heavily on something specific.

Torpor Orb: Specific defense against Twin, but can also be used for opponents with ETB creatures in general.

Tribute to Hunger : A little bit of extra creature removal that comes with some life gain is helpful against aggro, where I am trying to stabilize by turn 4/5.

Vandalblast: Cheap artifact removal that can turn into a sweeper against affinity decks.

Witchbane Orb : A decent answer against burn and mill decks, because the majority of their spells need to target to mill/deal damage.
