Alas, if Bolas goes in M14, I think it will be time to retire this deck. I could turn it into Grixis superfriends, but where's the fun in that?

Or you could make it into the deck it is now, except swapping Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker for more land. And people be like "What's the meaning with this deck? is it combo? Why aren't you going off by now?" And you could be like "We're waiting for Bolas." And look gloomy.

@Dallie Indeed. "Bolas isn't being reprinted in M14. He's being reprinted in M15." "Oh."

@Dallie +1. XD

Separate note, AEtherling ? I know the deck is creatureless, but is AEtherling really a creature? unblockable, hit, flicker, barter in blood. O_O

@pthomas625 - Indeed, if there were a creature in this deck, AEtherling would be the one. But suspending changes for now until I see all the M14 spoilers.

A set of AEtherling s or a set of Mind Grind s in place of Bolas after rotation might be the way to go.

@Ohthenoises - No Bolas in M14 = new standard deck.

Ohthenoises says... #9

Alright, you COULD make it work though lol. Any thoughts on what you might want to play?

KrazyCaley says... #10

@Ohthenoises - I have a primary idea that I'm not quite ready to share with the world. It's VERY janky.

At first I was like "You know what would be awesome for standard? FIVE COLOR DOOR TO NOTHINGNESS!" But then I remembered that Door was in M13 and probably wouldn't be reprinted either. So I came up with my OTHER idea.

To continue the legal shenanigans, filibuster is the way to go, ie Azor's Elocutors . With the pontential aid of Simic (Vorel of the Hull Clade ) or Izzet (Ral Zarek ) allies, the senate could even surpass President Bolas.

@psychoza - I'm janky, not insane.

I really hope President Bolas remains a straight-up reprint in all future sets. He's like the original Star Wars trilogy: perfect as is (the new CGI saddens me).

I still think I like my idea of gloomy looks the best.

well if aggro decks give you trouble, how about running a set of Ghoultree ?

Darsul says... #21

KrazyCaley How's the Liliana of the Veil been working out. When I use her I feel my opponent just tosses out their spot removal for her +1, -2 doesn't hit like Murder did and if you can ult her it seem you have the game won before that point. I've only used her once so far but, I feel she my be a better SB then main board.

June 23, 2013 2:29 p.m.

KrazyCaley says... #22

@Darsul - She's usually a slightly better Tribute to Hunger - she sacs one thing away, then buys me a turn of creatures attacking her rather than me. And of course sometimes she's just a doomsday clock. I like her, so far.
