A couple of my friends have said they're interested in MTG. So I'm putting together some decks for them. These are far from perfect but the idea is for them to be cheap but still do some cool stuff based off the concepts they might've been interested in.

For this one, it's boros spell slinging!

I'm kind of struggling with this one, so any and all cheap advice is welcome!

The centerpiece was initially Feather, so as I built around that, I'm using Phalanx Leader as the main hitter. You swing with him and throw some spells on him that Feather will bring back and then you've got Guttersnipe to keep blasting from the background, but obviously attack and block as needed.

Now for spells, Defiant Strike is an obvious quick spell. Hit a little harder and card draw. With Feather and/ or Zada you can stay stocked on spells. Renegade Tactics ALSO gets that card draw, and you could just target one of your own guys and get the spell back if you want. Or you could use it as intended and get your guys through. Through in some Assemble the Legion for shits.
