When I get some, I'm going to swap out the Llanowar Elves for Birds of Paradise.

I am making a very similar deck its this Mill Myself i have found that the mana ramp from Llanowar ElvesMTG Card: Llanowar Elves and Dawntreader ElkMTG Card: Dawntreader Elk just slows the deck down, you should be able to fix any mana problems using mulch. I also have found that Laboratory ManiacMTG Card: Laboratory Maniac is just to subject to removal. I would replace these with more Kessig CagebreakersMTG Card: Kessig Cagebreakers, and add GhoultreeMTG Card: Ghoultree and Tower GeistMTG Card: Tower Geist or Armored SkaabMTG Card: Armored Skaab

As I get more Kessig CagebreakersMTG Card: Kessig Cagebreakers I'll be putting them in definitely. I love the GhoultreeMTG Card: Ghoultree, but I only have one, and he's never really been a game changer for me, the SplinterfrightMTG Card: Splinterfrights have been far scarier in the end. The Dawntreader ElkMTG Card: Dawntreader Elk has saved me quite often, I rather like them. I've already got 4 Armored SkaabMTG Card: Armored Skaab

Something you could throw in a Curse of the Bloody TomeMTG Card: Curse of the Bloody Tome. You could enchant yourself and use it to mill yourself for 2 each turn. You could also throw in a Dream TwistMTG Card: Dream Twist for a low cost 3 card mill then use the flashback to cast again. also a great mill card for the deck would be Increasing ConfusionMTG Card: Increasing Confusion.

May I suggest play testing Jace's ArchivistMTG Card: Jace's Archivist? Cause why not! +1

Thanks for the suggestions. I haven't put in Dream TwistMTG Card: Dream Twist because it has no other effect than to mill... All the other spells I've got in my deck mill me and do something else. Too often the mill doesn't produce creatures, in which case Dream TwistMTG Card: Dream Twist is a wasted card and mana. I do like Jace's ArchivistMTG Card: Jace's Archivist and will probably try to find a place for him if I get one. I've thought about Curse of the Bloody TomeMTG Card: Curse of the Bloody Tome, while it won't always net me a creature in the graveyard, it is recurring.

Any ideas for a Sideboard would be helpful too. Thanks!

This is nice, I'd take out the 4xArmored SkaabMTG Card: Armored Skaabs for 4xBlue Sun's ZenithMTG Card: Blue Sun's Zenith, then I'd trade out a MulchMTG Card: Mulch for a fourth Forbidden AlchemyMTG Card: Forbidden Alchemy. this is how I make a Graveyard-Slayer deck: The first Ghoultree Deck

Thanks. I think I might pull one MulchMTG Card: Mulch for Forbidden AlchemyMTG Card: Forbidden Alchemy. For a while I was having mana issues, but the last several games I haven't needed MulchMTG Card: Mulch as much as I did, and Forbidden AlchemyMTG Card: Forbidden Alchemy's flashback is great here.

I don't have any Blue Sun's ZenithMTG Card: Blue Sun's Zenith, so I'll have to keep them in mind for the future.

I really like Merfolk LooterMTG Card: Merfolk Looter in this deck. When I play with my similar deck ( http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/gu-splinterfright-spawning-and-cage-breaking/ ) she's usually my unsung hero, filling my GY with creature cards and drawing me more self mill.

I also really like using Llanowar ElvesMTG Card: Llanowar Elves because they can act as both a creature and a source of land. Once you MulchMTG Card: Mulch yourself enough lands they become targets for Merfolk LooterMTG Card: Merfolk Looter.

Best of luck to you!

Has alot of potential. I would recommend having more than 24 creatures in the deck. The more creatures in the deck the more meaty the SplinterfrightMTG Card: Splinterfright and Boneyard WurmMTG Card: Boneyard Wurm get. Also I've personally never needed more than 2 Gnaw to the BoneMTG Card: Gnaw to the Bone in my self-mill, but if you are using them when you have 3 or less creatures in the graveyard then i could see how you might need three. If you need some early defence I'd say go for AEther AdeptMTG Card: AEther Adept. If you need anymore ideas, you can check out my self-mill deck. It's little different than yours but it has the same idea.deck:party-in-the-graveyard-1

That's a good point on Gnaw to the BoneMTG Card: Gnaw to the Bone. I've dropped them to 2 and upped Tracker's InstinctsMTG Card: Tracker's Instincts to 4.

I found Spider SpawningMTG Card: Spider Spawning too important not to have in the mainboard. Those spiders have won me more games than anything else in the deck so far.

I think a mana dork (Birds of ParadiseMTG Card: Birds of Paradise/Llanowar ElvesMTG Card: Llanowar Elves) would be very good for this deck. Also Thought ScourMTG Card: Thought Scour seems great 2.

I ran Birds of ParadiseMTG Card: Birds of Paradise and Llanowar ElvesMTG Card: Llanowar Elves for a long time here, and it just slowed the whole thing down. I do like Thought ScourMTG Card: Thought Scour. What would you take out for it?

I'd probably cut 1 Spider SpawningMTG Card: Spider Spawning and 2 Laboratory ManiacMTG Card: Laboratory Maniac. I think the maniac is a little to situational.

Alchemist's RefugeMTG Card: Alchemist's Refuge could be really useful here.

I agree! I'm going to wait to update it for Avacyn Restored when I get some cards from it. I've seen a few cards that I think will help.

I agree that you could use more creatures to build up your Frights and Wurms more consistently. Ambush Viper and Ulvenwald Tracker are good early game cards that help me out greatly in my graveyard deck. Check out mine for some ideas Flingin' Frights
