Like most saproling decks, this is looking to create a big board and alpha strike. Bontu is used to avoid board wipes, and create advantage if one is cast, slimefoot does this as well. Sacrificing sap's is a backup plan, and a constant threat if Bontu is on the board.

Ghalta is in the sideboard to replace Bontu in case of similar go wide strategies along with Torgaar in the case of lifegain strategies. Relying on Lost legacy to remove threats such as chainwhirler, steel leaf champion, and other red and green threats from opponents deck in game 2.
