Hahaha, alright man. I was confused at why you were talking about these modern cards and whatnot; I only play standard. Anyway, I hear ya and look forward to what you come up with.

the Voice of Obzedat here is my take on you deck

June 29, 2013 12:39 a.m.

Thanks again for doing that ApocryphalSaint, I'm very dedicated at this point to utilizing this idea and these powerhouse cards to do the impossible and break into a solid and competitive showing with a standard rogue decklist in the local metta of PDX. Haha.

Hey ApocryphalSaint, here's my take on what you came up with based on what I had orginally come up with...

much better. still think you should have Trostani which works really well with Obzedat ghost council...think about it. and 4 ethereal armor is meh. but overall I like this way better!

Adjustments still need to be made. I agree Trostani, Selesnya's Voice most likely belongs in the deck, but my reasoning for not including her here may seem silly but are important to me. Mainly, I don't currently own her (or Sigarda for that matter), furthermore I'm very broke right now. I do NOT like to proxy cards at all unless they are placeholders for cards that I intend to get ASAP; if for no other reason than that I want to be fair in case a test round against one of my friends in my play group comes up. Between these two selesnya legends, I'd say Sigarda, Host of Herons is more vital and worty of a proxy/immediate pick up. As for the Ethereal Armor s: everything I read about them online and on message boards is that they are the most crucial part of any enchantment aura deck (besides Rancor ) based on how cheap they are/how potent they are when stacked. What do you think about Alpha Authority ?

Fuck alpha authority.

Maybe look into adding farseek.

Behgz says... #9

After u incorporate farseek I won't feel bad suggesting yet another 5-drop in blood baron of the binder. That's where ur gonna find him haha.

I appreciate the suggestion The_Fifth_Element. I actually ran a rakdos zombie build that became an aristocrat build. That build of course ran Cartel Aristocrat , and I'm intentionally trying to go in a different direction. Honestly, I am attempting to take a legit rogue brew to my next FNM rather than to fall back into a tried and true standard top 8 archetype. But yeah, thanks again.

I think I want to make a deck like this but I don't have the Voices, any suggestions for possible replacements since I don't want to spend that kind of money >.>"

June 30, 2013 3:28 p.m.

Hey sabba5600, I'm actually strangely honored that you would ask me for advice on a deck. I was only able to acquire my playset of voices by buying them off of the homies in my play group for really good deals. Anyway, I have two suggestions on how you can take your deck. Before I got my voices this enchantment deck started out with humans as the creature base to attatch the auras to, and honestly, it was VERY effective. Use Avacyn's Pilgrim and Doomed Traveler for your 1 drops, and cards such as Elite Inquisitor , Precinct Captain , and Fencing Ace for your two drops (think about how potent dropping multiple Ethereal Armor s and maybe even a Rancor onto a Fencing Ace and then swinging is). The second suggestion is going bant rather than junk, because then you can include Invisible Stalker s as well as have more enchantment auras at your disposal. Anyway, good luck with your deck building. Let me know how it goes!

I really like the direction the deck has been progressing, if sigarda weren't sexy hexproof I'd say swap for the blood barons.

July 6, 2013 10:59 p.m.

I don't know. This deck still isn't as strong as it could be. I can't help but continue to consider cutting the aura aspect of the deck, and maybe even go in another direction entirely (i.e. cut black.)

Centaur Healer and Trostani, Selesnya's Voice are BFFs. Definitely run some of him in the main or side. My friend and I have been working on a Selesnya lifegain deck list for a while now and we're slowly piecing the cards together. Archangel of Thune is ridiculously good in here.

July 7, 2013 11:43 p.m.

Sainted says... #18

well im glad you kept SOME of my suggestions lol

July 7, 2013 11:52 p.m.

@ mrbloo1848: I'm very seriously considering Centaur Healer in the mainboard, as of right now they're just in the hypothetical sideboard along with Sigarda, Host of Herons and some other stuff. Holy shit, I NEED Archangel of Thune! Haha.

@ ApocryphalSaint: I know it's always sad to see a deck evolve into something else, but the black was just too inconsistent for my taste. Also let's face it; I was trying to force the aura theme and it just wasn't working. lol. I did try to keep some of your suggestions and maintain the spirit of what we came up with. If you've got any ideas for the currest build, let me know.

Sigarda, Host of Herons is about to throw a lightning Bolt at you because you have her in the fucking sideboard lolol

July 8, 2013 12:38 a.m.

Fair enough, I may be able to squeeze a couple back in for ya buddy. Haha. But what to cut?

July 8, 2013 1:01 a.m.

Goody says... #22

Well, this is actually pretty close to my list haha, the main differences being Oblivion Ring and Trostani, Selesnya's Voice . How have those guys been working out for you? What sort of decks do you win or lose to?

July 8, 2013 7:21 a.m.

jbabygray20 says... #23

I like it. Being able to play Loxodon Smiter turn two is always great of course. But I wish I had some Thragtusk , he's great with selesnya. Thanks for the +1 on my deck, +1 to you.

July 8, 2013 3:38 p.m.

@Goody: I actually built this deck the better part of a year ago (it has seen many iterations since) when rtr launched and selesnya was the new hot shit. Haha. That deck had a heavy focus on blinking creatures for multiple etbs and ltbs to gain advantage through lifegain and tokens. It was fun but it wasn't very competitive. Now that we have Advent of the Wurm and Voice of Resurgence I believe it will be more competitively viable. I do recall that populating with Trostani, Selesnya's Voice at instant speed was brutal (even when just a 3/3 beast), I can only imagine how good it will be right now. If you populate a 5/5 wurm as an instant you're essentially casting an advent for 1 less. Of 'course populating voices elemental tokens will be bad ass too. As for Oblivion Ring , I've long felt that if you're not running red or black, that it is the best spot removal for your money and a straight four of at that.

Formortiis says... #25

I really don't think you need 3 Trostanis. Seeing as this list can be fairly aggressive, you should probably replace one for something that pushes more damage like another Loxodon Smiter.
