He has 3 Silverblades already, but a 4th one would probably be better than the extra Trostani as well.

Whoa weird, I didn't see him in lol. The other card I run is Wolfir Silverheart , another option is Sigarda, Host of Herons . I would recommend maxing out on Loxodon Smiter first, as that 4/4 body solves a lot of your early problems and can win you the game.

@Formortiis and Goody: these are all good and sound suggestions fellas. I will definitely -1 Trostani, Selesnya's Voice to complete the playset of either Loxodon Smiter or Silverblade Paladin (which I have loved since they printed it, he carries the torch of Mirran Crusader for me). Or I may try to squeeze 2 Sigarda, Host of Herons in main board. Thanks for the comments guys, upvotes are appreciated if you like what I've got so far. :-)

Very solid I ran a playtest and it runs rather well I would maybe check out my deck and see if you like the way it runs. +1 for you nice work.

Decided to squeeze 2x Sigarda, Host of Herons into the mainboard. Let me know what ya'll think about the change. I went -1 Trostani, Selesnya's Voice and -1 Oblivion Ring .

this is pretty decent and standard selesnya but i've found Rhox Faithmender awesome when Trostani, Selesnya's Voice is out. Made a complete deck to win out of gain life. check it out.

@dbrannon: my original selesnya build (when RTR first launched) included Rhox Faithmender and focused on life gain. I found it very difficult winning with that brew simply because gaining a shit ton of life isn't technically a win-con. I lacked an endgame. So if you think my deck looks cookie-cutter or something, it's because of that. Anyway, I'll check out your deck and let you know what I think.

It's a really good selesnya type midrange deck. I'm sorry i didn't comment on your other gruul the other day, but i did upvote it like this one! Anyways it's a good deck and i like it. I actually considered something like this but I saw too much power in token creation and token ideas. Anyways good job! Laters!

drop land count to 21 or 22. deck is aggressive and the cmc's are not that expensive and you don't have draw power and you even have an avacyn's pilgrim.

ygamretuta says... #12
then in place of those lands put 2x or 3x Call of the Conclave ?
July 10, 2013 9:07 p.m.
I recommend Gavony Township , btw; and keep your land count at 23-24.
July 10, 2013 9:49 p.m.
yeah you might wanna run 2Gavony Township and drop down to 6Plains and yes run 24 lands it helps
July 10, 2013 9:55 p.m.
I would side out the 3Oblivion Ring and put a fourth Loxodon Smiter & Rancor & Selesnya Charm I would also maybe side out the 2Sigarda, Host of Herons and put another Silverblade Paladin doublestrike really gets there when soulbonded also and a Restoration Angel if you want of course. If you do try it let me know how it works out for you.

hey guys, thanks a lot for your recent comments and suggestions. I agree completely that my deck list was glaringly missing Gavony Township , that change has been made. I'm sticking to my guns on the Oblivion Ring s. As I mentioned before, I've felt for a long time that it is the best spot removal that you can get if you aren't running red or black. As for Sigarda, Host of Herons : she could go either way (SB or MB). I will leave that one up to a vote. Bear in mind, that when she is in the SB she almost undeniably gets subbed in game 2 every time. She is quite brutal when paired with a Silverblade Paladin .

Care to weigh in on Sigarda, Host of Herons , Behgz?
July 11, 2013 4:08 a.m.
She's pretty much incredible. You said it yourself, paired to a silverblade she is strait over powered. She's a great body for trostani to see enter, she shuts down renounce the guilds, devour flesh and far/away.
She is a serious hedge player, she is constantly being mainboarded then sideboarded only to be mainboarded again. She definately commands respect in the right meta and I feel like this brew you have here has a spot for her.... in the main.

Their is a lot of truth behind that I suppose the Oblivion Ring does come in handy alot. As far as Sigarda, Host of Herons I havent had the pleasure of playing with her, im sure she runs good especially withSilverblade Paladin nice brew overall, keep in mind I havent been to FNM yet with my selesnyaggro deck so I dont really know what to expect but im gonna start going next friday down in FL so we will see what happens I hope to take first.

+1, expensive but nice deck. Have you considered throwing Sundering Growth and Druid's Deliverance into a sideboard?
I agree with ygamretuta that Call of the Conclave should go in here, maybe in place of a couple Voice of Resurgence

all of these cards were collected over time so I didn't exactly break the bank putting it together. Besides, all the best decks got some serious bling to 'em; let's be real.
I could definitely see one or both of the cards (Sundering Growth & Druid's Deliverance ) making the cut in my sideboard. I will be constructing one soon as I intend to try to go to a tourney this weekend, so check back on the progress of that.
I too can see what ygamretuta is saying about Call of the Conclave . In particular because I find myself often using Selesnya Charm for it's 2/2 vigilent knight token so I can have a target to populate with Trostani, Selesnya's Voice and I'd rather save those for the spot removal or Giant Growth utilities. That being said, there is no way in 'rakdos' that I'm taking even a single Voice of Resurgence out of this deck. For so many reasons, not the least of which being I pretty much had to trade my first born son for the playset.
Post Script: you might've forgotten to hit the ol' upvote button there. ;-) Thanks for your comment. B the W.

Appreciate the feedback. I like this overall. I think it's begging for Garruk though. The added beast would be monstrous with Trostani. I'd drop 1 O-Ring main board for him and add a second on the side board and drop one of the pithing needles.
July 12, 2013 11:48 a.m.
thats a brute suggestion, primal hunter is good, really good, I second the suggestion.
July 12, 2013 4:14 p.m.
Thanks for the comment and the +1 on my Selesnya deck Come hear my voice. I like your deck a lot (+1). There are only two things I see, first I would consider adding Garruk, Primal Hunter . He's just so awesome: provides blockers/populate targets, makes voice tokens bigger, helps after wraths, and can be huge for card draw in the midgame. Second is Rancor versus Unflinching Courage . The former is more aggro and good if your meta has lots of board wipes and heavy creature removal, but I really like Unflinching Courage for advantage over other midrange decks. It puts most creatures out of range for spot removal and the lifegain can be huge in a race. I know Goody prefers Rancor for his build (Return to Selesnya), which a lot like yours. Out of the three, I would say his is the most aggro, followed by yours, then mine. I suppose individual metas would matter the most in determining which would be most effective.
My first aggro deck coming back to Magic was a Selesnya aggro: Apoptosis Revamped G/W Aggro v2.1, which focused on using doublestrike for synergies. Don't know how well it could have become. I get restless quickly and switch the decks I play at my local shop pretty much every time (with a family, I only get out once a month, so by the time I get out again I've switched decks). Anyway, I include it as a reference only.
I'm not sure about Ground Seal
over Purify the Grave
. I worry about Abrupt Decay
letting Junk get around it on their terms. I have always preferred proactive plays (I target them on my terms) over a static defense. With that said, I've never used Ground Seal
and only rarely had situations where I've had Purify the Grave
in hand out of the sideboard. As an old fart who only occasionally gets to the local store to play, I just don't have enough practical experience here.
Two other decks that are not Selesnya, but have similar themes because of a strong G/W element are Jimhawk's The Nayan Apocalypse and Ohthenoises's Bant deck Live Long and Populate. Obviously, they are very different decks, but I like them both a lot and it's still interesting to see how they've dipped into Naya and Bant, respectively to complement some of the core G/W core elements. I have no idea whether that helps, but those are two really nice decks that I looked at when I put together Come hear my voice.
Hope this was helpful. Good luck.

In my list I run Silverblade Paladin and it rocks. If you ever feel the need to be more aggressive with your board presence, try him out.
