Sephara, Sky's Blade

Why Play Sephara

1. You like aggro

2. You like one-sided boardwipes

3. You are okay with a more casual commander

4. You enjoy being able to avoid a cost of and avoid a nasty commander tax. (Yes, the one mana still gets tax sadly)

Why Not To Play Sephara

1. You prefer stax or control

2. You want to play Avacyn, Angel of Hope

3. You want a deck that is really consistent

What The Deck Does

Very simply, this is an aggro mono Flyers deck. You are low on curve with flying creatures, you can cast Sephara, Sky's Blade hopefully early and avoid tax, and you use a lot of anthems and wraths to win the game.

Cards like Timely Ward and Shielded by Faith help give our commander Indestructible and make our wraths ( Wrath of God , Rout ) one sided!

There is also a token sub-theme going on in the deck, with cards like Court of Grace , Decree of Justice , and Entreat the Angels going in the deck!

Supporting Cards

Some cards to note as supportive in our BIRD ARMY

1. Magus of the Moat - for only we essentially get the effect of Moat without having to pay several hundred dollars! Also, who DOESN'T like one-sided attacks?

2. Burnished Hart + Emeria Shepherd - an amazing way to ramp and recur all of our good stuff!

3. Akroma's Will + Rally of Wings - These are some of the decks big finishers! Being able to take a board of measly 1/1's and turn them into 3/3s? Great! And Akroma's Will is the best finisher in white, which will make all of creatures double-striking, immortal, life-linkers that won't worry about a crackback!

4. Idyllic Tutor , Ranger of Eos , and Ranger-Captain of Eos all help tutor for our low-curve creatures and powerful enchantments!

5. Mentor of the Meek and Skullclamp will let us use your small creatures to grind out some gas to try and stay in the game, while Tome of Legends will assist us in drawing cards once we get Sephara out.

Closing Thoughts

Sephara is a really unique commander! I had a lot of fun brewing this deck, and it can easily be upgraded to be much more fierce! Either by adding more stax/tax cards, or much more evil token generation, you can easily tune this decks power to your liking. Also, one can easily make this a budget deck! Just remove most cards over $5~, keep some wraths and anthems, and the deck will perform it's intended purpose at the cost of only a few dollars!
