YamishiTheWickedOne what do you think of a couple Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose in place of 1 seize and 1 push that can be moved to the sideboard? Seems like he could be a decent include with that ability.

Vito is good here but running less than 4 push and 4 seize is not ideal imo. I'd drop 1 each of highborn and ghoul, 1 more 3 mana card isn't a significant hit to your curve.

YamishiTheWickedOne drop down to 2 ghoul even tho it’s a bigger combo piece with Sorin? I wasn’t sure dropping a seize and push was the right way to go, that’s why I asked the vampire master first.

2 ghouls is enough, Highborn requires you to be smart with your mana and hold back some other plays. While he's weaker, I prefer artist due to not requiring mana. I do like Vito here as he turns Sorin's second +1 into burn for 6-7 heal 3-4, or burn 3 heal 3 bolt target creature. Also synergizes with both Cordial and Knight.

Good stuff here. Have you had any issues turning on Fatal Push? I would run more fetches or swap out for some combination of Infernal Grasp and Dismember.

PuddinWing with how removal heavy the current meta is in modern and with cas outlets, push isn’t hard to turn at all. Maybe 2 more fetches wouldn’t hurt, but the deck has been very smooth and can go off quickly. I’m very pleased with how this has turned out and has become my favorite build to pilot. Dismember was in the main or side in the original build and hasn’t been overly necessary, but with all evoke elementals in the meta, it could definitely get swapped back in. what do you think about 1 copy of the new vampire Lord Xander, The Collector ?

It would be a great target for Sorin.

GPL Xander is an odd case. He's almost completely dead in hand without Sorin, but if you can use Sorin to get him into play on turn 3 you've pretty much won the game.

Awesome deck list! I had been wanting to play a vampire tribe deck for a bit now and liked how you built this partially around counters. Taking some inspiration from this to try my hand at my own take on vampires but thanks for the motivation!

lhetrick13 thanks for the upvote and good luck. Always happy to hear a new player joined the tribe. Vampires are fun, powerful and an underrated tribe.

Interestingly enough, vampires are actually meta now in Pioneer.

YamishiTheWickedOne NickachuMTG streamed a league about a month ago where he played his vampire build, noticed an uptick on here since. Nice to see the tribe getting more play on modern, just as nice seeing them find a home in pioneer.

SefTheReject vampires were already Pioneer's second best tribal deck before Crimson Vow, now there are like 3 different builds I've seen top online events. The monoblack build started splashing white for Edgar and some people started running red and blue as splash colors because of Xander and Olivia, but there's an Evelyn build that runs Fable of Kiki Jiki or whatever and is much more control-ish.

Oh and Bloodtithe Harvester is incredible. Honestly, best 2 mana vamp since Cordial and Adanto Vanguard. Corpse Appraiser is very interesting on paper too. You know a vampire is good when non-tribal decks run it. Like half of the creatures used in Rakdos Aggro are vampires now and Kalitas is statistically the best creature in the format.

YamishiTheWickedOne Welcoming Vampire was tested in DnT for a brief time. Nice card, has evasion and card draw, just didn’t fit the build. The two you mentioned look very good, appraiser must be good if non vamp builds are splashing to include it.

SefTheReject I should clarify that I was referring to Bloodtithe Harvester. Rakdos Aggro/Midrange is another aggressive deck that does commonly run Harvester, Aetherborn, Knight of the Ebon Legion and Kalitas.

YamishiTheWickedOne recently got some play testing in after a little longer break than expected. Vito is a BEAST and fits this build better than expected, has great synergy with Sorin. Need to do a little more testing, but I’d like to get Vito and silversmote out with a little more consistency. Pulled Vito in half the games I played and neither silver smote. Maybe 3 of is the right number, but not sure what to trim since everything else runs very smooth and has tremendous consistency.

Hmmmmm... hard to say really. I think they're fine at 2 but I'll run some tests and if anything feels off I'll let you know.

A card I obtained recently (it's expensive though, I'm building Rakdos midrange for Pioneer) is The Meathook Massacre. If you have the opportunity to try that out it might be amazing here. I assume you're working with a limited budget? If so I wouldn't worry too much about it, just a cool idea for aristocrats.

YamishiTheWickedOne wish I would’ve got in on it before it was wallet breaking lol. I agree it could be a good include, would have to be at least 2 of. I rarely play a 1 of without a way of tutoring for it. Think I’ll be able to swing it in a couple weeks.

Speaking of rarely playing 1 ofs how about Blade of the Bloodchief

Dead_Blue_ great card without a doubt and don’t blame anyone for including it in a vampire build. Without a way of tutoring for it, a 1 of just isn’t reliable enough. It’s different in a taxes build, you SFM or Saga for it.

New release Vraan, Executioner Thane would be a good inclusion here, probably as a one-of.

Nice deck ! I have a question about the use of lands in this deck. I assume urborg is to use other land that are not swamp as it was a swamp, including prismatic vista but i don't get the point why prismatic vista in this one color deck ? Prismatic vista is only to fetch swamp ? in this cas why just have more swamp ? Thank you in advance for your answer !
