YamishiTheWickedOne now that Vraan is out, I'm havibg a hard time slotting it in. Everything synergizes incredibly well, only thing I can think is either drop 2 push for Vraan or 1 push and 1 kalastria. leaning more towards the push's, but the revolt is so easy to trigger that I'm hesitant.

Eldjiin didn't mean to say non basics, not sure why I said it lol

You could maybe try him out as a one-of over the second Vito or Highborn maybe? You want to keep Push at 3. I'm trying to make mine fit 4 push 2 terminate/dreadbore again.

YamishiTheWickedOne I was leaning towards cutting 1 push and 1 highborn, want to keep Vito at 2 of so it’s a little more consistent and Vraan basically does what highborn does without having to dedicate mana to get the effect.

Oof, sorry, I meant to say keep push at 4. Typo on my part. Try the new guy at 1 and decide as you test him out. 4 push is great. Apologies for the mistake.

YamishiTheWickedOne agreed 4 push is great & revolt triggers easy in this shell, but it was the only thing I could think of to cut with kalastria. I could drop 1 land and play 20, but with 8 3 drops I’m not I want to do that. Very hard to decide what to cut to fit vraan in.

Not relevant to this deck but just a heads up, they made a 12/12 vampire in the new set. And it's Selesnia colors and also a dinosaur. Hello new Sorin target.

YamishiTheWickedOne lol that's a good one. Haven't checked out what's coming with the new set yet, but that's NO doubt a Sorin target.

I'm amazed given it's 12/12 and a Sorin target that this thing is only 7 mana. Granted it's 3GGWW but like... It's not just a 12/12 either. It's a 12/12 that has trample and when it attacks it makes a tapped and attacking green dinosaur with trample that's equal to your strongest attacking creature, OR it makes a 1/1 white vampire for every point of power your strongest creature has. Essentially it either clones itself or makes 12 1/1 vampires every time it attacks.

Also there's a new Orzhov Drana teamed up with that one angel, Linvalda I think her name was? 1WWB, negates abilities of your opponents' creatures and steals those abilities. Honestly good sideboard material in Orzhov/Mardu builds.

YamishiTheWickedOne I’ve replicated this as best I can on arena (historic) and I’ve been testing Gifted Aetherborn as a 2 of, replacing 2 ghast and I have to say the results have been impressive. So much so that I’m thinking of giving it a try in paper modern. It’s got built in removal and the lifelink triggers Vito. Keeping my record in my notes, so far I’m 37-14 with the build. Gifted has always been one of my favorite cards and it has really shined when it’s seen play.

YamishiTheWickedOne further testing of the historic build I replaced the 1 drops that filled in for seer with Vampire of the Dire Moon and it’s worked incredibly well with Vito and another addition Vein Ripper. Once I can get 2, they’ll be replacing vraan. Vraan has been a decent card, but ripper is naughty. 3 games dropped on turn 3 via sorin, 2 snap conceded. I know we loose the scry ability with seer, but built in removal and lifelink for 1 seems like a stronger play.

Yeah, Ripper is really good but you should only ever run him with 4 Sorins. I do still like Vraan a lot. Viscera Seer is probably my favorite utility creature in the entire game but if you're moving away from Aristocrats/sac engine these changes might not be the worst.

YamishiTheWickedOne I agree with you on both, seer is a great utility card and vraan has been decent, it does what it’s supposed to, but it only triggers once. Ripper triggers every time, has evasion and is just a beater. Since this build has the playset of sorin it’s primed and ready. With how similar historic is to modern and with the results I’m seeing, leaning more towards a drain and gain build might be worth trying. If it doesn’t work like I think, can always come back to aristocrats.

Eldjiin Thank you, been building it for over a year. Yes, like yavimaya, cradle of growth flips non basics to forests, urborg makes them swamps. Vista is here simply to thin out the deck and keep the gas coming, other fetches allow you to grab things like hallowed fountain, overgrown tomb etc, vista (I believe, I could be wrong) can only grab basic lands. Since this is a mono color build, vista is perfect for thinning out the deck and keeping the gas flowing. I hope that answers your question.
