Making an affordable aggro deck can be entertaining and very fun. It is one of the play-styles that can be VERY effective, while spending very little money!

Guttersnipe - doesn't add much to your attacking game, and will hold back your battalion effects.

Attended Knight - Just seem's an unfavorable card. Doesn't bring much to the game for its 3 mana.

Both of these cards you run 1 of. You should debate whether or not you really need them.

Truefire Paladin - is a nice addition in their place and allows you to pump mana into him to do more damage instead of dropping out your whole hand and then getting board wiped, essentially destroying all advantages you had. He's very affordable too.

If you want to keep your 2 CMC slot the way it is, then I suggest running +2 Traitorous Blood or Act of Treason. Also, if you find that Mugging isn't doing enough, these cards do essentially the same thing (they can't block with what you now control) and can be even more effective depending on the creature you steal.

I found Rakdos Cackler to be a great addition to this type of deck and relatively cheap.

i like that it says 13.63 for the price. yet i know you put more into it than that. i was there when you got every card you have. ha. but this deck is very effective. he manages to get my health down before i can get any of my guys out with my mill deck.

RUGslug Thanks for the feedback i totally agree with what youve said, the Guttersnipe i put in as a filler and have only been able to use his ability once in probably ten matches so i think i can part with him. Also the same with Attended Knight Havent been able to really put him to work either. Mugging i use to get their early drops out and if theyre too strong to be wiped i use it for the non blocking ability. I like the MC of Mugging so it will probably stay.

that card can be pulled out with just a mountain though. but im not a fan of that unleash ability so id say nay to it.

Consider Firefist Striker for a mugging effect every attack phase. He's budget friendly as well.

on a more deck oriented note. I agree with RUGslug both the snipe and the attendant slow you down. Skyknight Legionnaire is a hasty 3 drop that with flying of course the preferred choice would be Silverblade Paladin but like you said it's budget and we can't all afford to spend 40+ for a play set. Other than pulling those I can't think of any other cards. Lightning Mauler is a good card for human aggro as well as Mentor of the Meek and Intrepid Hero and Crusader of Odric the last two being other suggestions for your 3 drop creature slot. I strongly suggest Act of Treason as well, as it can often clear the way for the victory. I see what you mean about mugging it's essentially a pillar of flame, but with an aggro deck mechanic built it for later in the game when they drop that fatty, Restoration Angel, Thragtusk, Thundermaw Hellkite I'm looking at you. Anywho aggro is a great format to go cheap in and I like the deck +1 from me.

mourningsage124 First off thanks for the grammar correction hahaha, also thank you for your input on the deck Silverblade Paladin is a considered card for sure. Act of Treason has been in and out a couple of times. We'll see how it goes though.

It's really hard to find a suite able place holder for paladin as it is such a great card I currently only have one and trying to work out around it until I can get a couple more. I love the quickness of humans in this set especially the synergy with Champion of the Parish, Lightning Mauler, and Silverblade Paladin played on a good draw in the right order can really make things complicated for your opponent. Optimally it can allow for T3 swing for 12, after pinging with the champ T2 it leaves you with only 6 more life to swing for.

Merkulon666 unleash has it's draw backs in certain style of decks, but in this type of deck, defending is not really wanted... it should be attack attack attack right out of the gate and until your opponent says "mercy, stop, please don't hurt me anymore, uncle, I give up." If you start defending, you've moved into your opponents realm and given him the notice, 'you can win'. This is why it's optimal for this deck, Though to be fair, I'm removing mine for Legion Loyalist, but I didn't go on a budget and doing a pure boros theme.

mourningsage124 definitely those three are a force, ill be hoping for a couple paladin pulls and a couple champs would be nice. again thank you tis appreciated

a lot of these solid suggestions like the Silverblade Paladin, Lightning Mauler and Champion of the Parish can be found in the boros event deck. with other cards like Clifftop Retreat you may want to pick one up.

@hisoka if the Boros event box your are referring to is the Boros Battalion then unfortunately you can only get a Clifftop Retreat out of that box. These boxes only contain Gatecrash cards, both the the Paladin and the Mauler are from Avacyn and the Champ is from Innistrad. I wish it were that way due to buying the box but i was kinda disapointed.
