No i havent. this deck is quiet new and i only played it a couple of times so far, but i won most of the games against all different kinds of decks. problem is that im runing out of steam at turn 8-9. What i like about this deck is, since it has a lot of different creatures in it,it plays out differently every time you play with it. that makes it more fun for you and unpredictable for your opponent
Im thinking about adding Madcap Skills to it. could be devastating especially combined with Tajic, Blade of the Legion . But what card should i remove for it?
Im also looking for some more synergies here, since this deck tends to have a lot of creatures (all humans) out. maybe i could profit a little more from that, than just battalion attacks.
any ideas?

Door of Destinies ? It would really buff the humans Madcap Skills is great idea. its really cheap and put it almost any of your creatures and effect will be great

Lots of better cards to run. Goblin Guide , Lightning Bolt , Path to Exile . Even if you want to keep it tribal human, there are still better options.
Want help improving this?

good idea. ill tryit out. but i think Door of Destinies is a little to slow for the deck: play it on turn 4 (which means no creature reinforcements), turn 5:+1, turn 6:+2...now by turn 6 im already either dominating the game or i am on the loosing path, no matter if i have a plus 2 or not...but this is just theory on the paper. i will definatly try it out and see how it works in reality. thanks and thanks for +1

@ LeaPlath: yes please. but i want to keep it a tribal human and stick close to the boros theme
August 7, 2013 6:41 a.m.
OK, well, what do you wanna do? Pure aggro or more hatebearish?
August 7, 2013 7:11 a.m.
i play magic for 6 months now, so im not really sure whats the difference between those two.what im trying to do is to swarm my oppponent and keep on attacking with them. soulbond and battalion helps two make my small creatures even peskier. "have stronger creatures for less mana than your opponent" so to say. i like the control part that comes with Mugging and Firefist Striker which helps me a lot to break through my opponents defenses to deal some decent amount of damage each round. so this is some part of strategy i want to stick to in this deck.what i dont like about pure aggro decks is, thtat they basically run the same strategy each game.and if your opponent manages to survive the first couple of rounds your most likely to loose the game. thats why i have Tajic, Blade of the Legion , Boros Charm or Silverblade Paladin in it. all those cards can still give you the upper hand in the mid-/lategame.Summing my comment up, i realize that i prefer the hate bear road more than the pure aggro.
oh,and should also say, that i dont want to raise the money costs up for this deck than it already does.
i appreciate your effort. thanks for that!

Hmm m8 I have been thinking your deck all day :D And I found something for you. What about this Veteran's Armaments ?
August 7, 2013 11:06 a.m.
Hatebears are cards like Thalia or Grand Arbiter and stuff that while not the most aggressive cards, can shut down enemy decks.
Aggro would be me suggesting a lot more aggressive creatures.
Which do you want?

What about good old Odric, Master Tactician ? He is very good on the attack, able to remove pesky creatures, or bypass them all together. Plus he is pretty much battalion plus one to activate.

this one looks really handy... and even fits into the theme very well. thanks!

What about Odric, Master Tactician I find he really helps to make sure your high power creatures deal direct damage to an opponent instead of being blocked and only the low power creatures getting through, also very helpful with Assemble the Legion which is also very helpful.

Oh and also put Wear / Tear into your mainboard because it is amazing. And +1
August 14, 2013 4:12 a.m.
@ sicarius.af: well, i think Wear / Tear only makes sence if your expecting artifacts and enchantments, which usually isnt the case when im playing within my magic group ;) but ill def. consider odric, just not sure whom to take out, since i want to stick to the battalion theme, also im afraid hes a little to slow/expensive for this deck. on the other hand his ability is just devasting combined with my other guys. i have to think... ;)
and thanks for +1 and feedback

you are probably not going to like this idea, but I'd remove the Tajic, Blade of the Legion
in place of two Odric, Master Tactician
.
Reason's to switch Tajic with Odric
- They both cost 4 to bring out.
- Without battalion, Tajic is just a 2/2 with Indestructable, making him only really decent as a blocker, where as Odric without battalion is a 3/4 first striker making him more of an offensive threat that is hard to remove.
- Odric flat out wins you games. HE gets your army through untouched delivering that final blow. Tajic would be stronger than Odric yes, but the only way he is getting through unblocked is with Firefist Striker attacking aswell, even then, that just takes away one blocker, what if your opponent has an army??
And I wouldn't say Odric is too slow for this deck. With an open Lightning Mauler
on the field, you can activate Odric's battalion turn four.
Example, t1 plains, Champion of the Parish , t2, plains, another Champion, Doomed Traveler . t3, mountain, Traveler, Lightning Mauler (unpaired). t4 land, Odric paired with Mauler, swing out = 6+5+1+2+3=17 to the face, minus possible unblocked damage in between. at the very latest, t5 win.

@ Rocknj06: I did what you recommended and took out Tajic, Blade of the Legion for Odric, Master Tactician . Played a lot with it (mostly online) and what can i say?...Odric is total BOSS!!!!! so thanks for that advice.
but there are still a few things that are bugging me a little now:Firefist Striker looses a lot of its potential, once Odric, Master Tactician is on the field, since the striker is basically a light version of odric. having both cards in one deck just doesent feel as smooth as it could be. on the other hand, both are really usefull and i cant imagine dropping one of them ot of the roster.
the Battalion theme which was my original intention at the beginning with this deck is slightly slipping away here. sure, efficiency is one thing for a good deck, but i also like to have decks, that have a certain topic or style to stick to. unfortunatly the remaining battalion cards arent that great, except for maybe Legion Loyalist (who doesent belong to this deck, since i want to keep it human) or Frontline Medic (who i dont need either, since i already have 4 Boros Charm for indestructabilty). i hope there will be some nice reinforments coming out soon.
has anyone made experiences with Boros Elite ? it looks like a really well fitting card to this deck but i hardly see it on any deck. What is the reason? to sum it up, i like the deck, but i still think it can be done better/smoother.
any suggestions?

Elite would be awesome, if you can be sure that you would be activating the battalion effect. As for Frontline Medic
, I feel he does deserve to be here. He doesn't just make your creatures indestructible. He has a secondary effect that is great against Bonfire, Sphinx Rev., a lot of the big scary Hydra's, and such. It also frees up your charms for the double strike ability or that final 4 points of damage to kill them.

seriously thinking about adding Legion's Initiative , but i have a few questions:
- lets say Champion of the Parish is a 3/3 already. if he gets exiled, does he come back with the counters?
- lets say Champion of the Parish and two other humans are being exiled. does he get two more counters after coming back?
- if i exile my creatures after i've attacked, do they return at my opponents combat phase or when it's my (next) combat phase?
- is it legal to assign my creatures to block, but BEFORE the damage is dealt i exile them which means no damage is being dealt at all by my opponent, neither to me as a player nor to my creatures?
thanks for helping!

This is a really nice deck...when you get land. I playtested this deck three times. The first time it annihilated mono-blue devotion, but the other two games I couldn't draw land. This deck probably needs at least 22 land.
I would +1 Plains and -1 Mountain, mainly because of Odric, Master Tactician. Then I'd recommend ditching the guildgates for Temple of Triumph, and play four of them. You could take Moment of Heroism out for those, and put them in your sideboard.

Madcap Skills is great on cards like Soldier of the Pantheon. Makes for T2 swinging for 5.
