Boros, just Boros

Standard RW (Boros)

Sideboard

Hit 'em hard, and hit 'em fast! The main idea of this deck is to hit hard and hit fast, but the only thing it is really succeptible to is being stalled and all of the creatures dieing via boardwipes. If you can keep the creatures alive you can mostly win just by topdecking a helix or a Boros Charm!

FNM Report

This was definatly the biggest FNM I've been to seeing as the last one had about 15 people and 3 rounds, and this one had 30 and 5 rounds. One of my friends, the Ashen Knight let me borrow a couple of cards. The last Boros Reckoner I needed to complete my playset, Legion's Initiative, Chained to the Rocks, and a Fiendslayer Paladin.

Round 1

Christopher was my opponent's name and aggro was the game! Chris was playing a mono red deck that his girlfriend made and it definatly needed work. The first game was a pretty standard turn one Loyalist, turn 2 Truefire, turn 3 Frontline, smash and repeat. I one both games putting myself 1-0.

Round 2

My oppenent was unfortunatly, my other best friend Noah. So remember how the Ashen Knight let me borrow his cards for my Boros deck? Well Noah was using HIS Selesnya deck. And not knowing I would face Noah in the tournament, I let him borrow my 2 Voice of Resergence's. But he didn't get ANY of them out, so I stompped him, making myself 2-0.

Round 3

I played yet another Selesnya deck piloted by a freshman at MIT University named Justin. Justin's deck had more Soldier of the Pantheon's which he mostly threw infront of Akroan Hoplite's until he got out his own Frontline Medic which I Chained to the Rocks. In game two he got out a Scavenging Ooze and a Experiment One which made my stuff getting through harder. But a couple Boros Charm's and one judge call later, I was 3-0 and undefeated.

Round 4

I hate control. It's stupid. All I wanted to do is get in about 20 points of damage but NOOO. He had to D-Sphere my Reckoners, Verdict when I didn't have my Legion's Initiatives, and get out an AEtherling. Needless to say I lost that round putting me 3-1.

Round 5

Mono-Black Devotion.I tested against this deck on tappedout and it seemed like an even matchup so I had no idea where this was going, but it was the last round and my hopes were down because of my last match. Game one he started with a turn one Thoughtseize only to boot a Truefire Paladin, he got starved of of one land and practically died 3-4 turns later. Game 2 I started with the usual stuffand was swinging big time on turn 3. He got out a Pack Rat which I thought would be a big deal, but he didn't make anymore rats for a turn which allowed me to topdeck a Lightning Strike. He then got out a Desecration Demon on turn four but he was forced to block my suprise Spark Trooper! Then he got out another demon only for me to topdeck Chained to the Rocks and then win the in next couple turns with a Warleader's Helix! Final record 4-1. I ended the day with $15 in store credit.

16smith I'll consider running a Pithing Needle and Celestial Flare because I have personally never even played those cards. Boros Charmfoil can do everything Rootborn Defenses wants to do in this deck only cheaper, and Brave the Elements only saves white creatures so I won't play it.
