Every few days someone comments on this saying that and every few days I sigh and ask if they know how to play duel commander.
Primeval Titan is NOT banned in French.

Duel/French commander is garbage anyway. Commander is meant to be a multiplayer format. Plus there's so much retarded shit changed in the rules that it ruins everything good about commander.
February 24, 2014 10:19 a.m.
Lol. Duel commander is really fantastic. It's high power, fast, exciting and has a really wide meta with room for multiple deck archetypes. It's like legacy but with a wider meta. The rules for both duel commander and normal are almost identical except in duel you start with 30 life instead of 40 and a different banlist. The reason for the banlist is to just remove some of the cards that give an advantage that is too great. In fact it's relatively similar to the legacy list.
I guess if you don't like it that's fine but to say it has 'retarded rules' is inaccurate.

"Meant to be multiplayer" by your definition? By the creators? Things change over time. "Magic was meant to be played with no restrictions! Only limiting me to four of any card ruins the game" See how dumb you sound?
Or maybe you're just bad and like playing big dumb spells with no thought/strategy lol

So completely countering and making useless of so many of the spells that are staples in EDH like Spell Crumple because people whine about how good they are in commander isn't retarded? Not being able to bounce a commander to a hand or the bottom of a library seems pretty retarded to me. And the only reason it's "fast" and "high power" is due to the lack of people playing. And for just as many play-styles as you get to "add" to your options because it's single player, you also lose just as many deck and play style options because you don't have that multiplayer aspect. EDH was and always will be intended as a multiplayer format. If you're playing french EDH you should just go back to playing legacy.
February 24, 2014 12:15 p.m.
You know that commander started as a 1v1 format don't you?
February 24, 2014 12:20 p.m.

... yes, EDH was intended by the creators to be multiplayer; there have been interviews about it. I don't understand why you're randomly pulling out of your ass the "no-restriction" quote. I didn't say EDH shouldn't have restrictions, I said your french EDH is bad. :D
February 24, 2014 12:22 p.m.
Also I dont really understand your point about spell crumple.... it's not on the french banlist.

From the official quote of rules: "Commander is the modern name for EDH, a Magic:The Gathering variant format which emphasises social interactions, interesting games, and creative deckbuilding. It can be played 1-on-1 but is usually multiplayer."

It's not banned, but it's useless in french EDH, because a large portion of it's use in EDH is that it's meant to put a commander on the bottom of a library. Which you can't do in french EDH.
February 24, 2014 12:25 p.m.
That doesnt mean that it started as multiplayer though.... that's a logic fail. What's usually done is actually different in a lot of cases to how things started.
February 24, 2014 12:25 p.m.
I think that's an interesting point about spell crumple and commanders. However it's still a valid card against other cards in the deck, and does hinder the commander because it gets harder to cast.
Anyway. I like duel commander. It's really great and a good alternative to legacy etc.
If you don't then that's fine.

lol this guy doesn't even know what he's talking about. You can totally bounce a commander to one's hand.
WAHHHHHHHHHH STOP LIKING WHAT I DON'T LIKE
Keep bitching, friend.

TurboFagoot says... #21
Duh. He also said you can't bounce it to their hand, which is false.

But even then, on cards like Spell Crumple (I run Hinder), there are enough graveyard strategies running around that tuck effects are relevant enough even if they don't hit generals.
People just don't like having to build optimized decks that are both proactive and able to handle threats, and feel threatened by a real game and not 8 turns of ramp from everyone then big spell.

Bubbleberry says... #23
I apologize, I was told you can't bounce them to their owners hand either in french EDH. But I wouldn't know, because I play the good version. ;D
February 24, 2014 12:36 p.m.
I don't really care. People are allowed to not like things but to say they're 'stupid' is another matter. I think duel is way more balanced than standard commander.
TurboFagoot says... #1
Not in Duel Commander you doughnut.
