A mainly red deck based around cheap instant spells that trigger Young Pyro and later Blaze Commando's abilities to put tokens on the field triggering Purphoros' damage dealing effect. Guttersnipe adds extra damage on top of the plethora of burn spells to finish the opponent.

Against midrange there is early game disruption for manadorks and other high priority targets with Shock and Spark Jolt (which has the benefit of fixing any mana problems with scry). This deck works best when you can get board presence with Young Pyro and Purphoros keeping all instants in hand for one go.

Against aggro, Anger of the Gods is side boarded for a turn 3 board wipe followed by board presence and burn just as with midrange.

Against control, Blaze Commando/Boros Reckoner is sided for the copies of Assemble the Legion which are generally to slow for vs aggro/midrange. These allow an unchecked Assemble to win via Purphoros or itself if the burn isn't enough to do the job. Reckoner is sided out only against a deck with "exile creature" cards to make sure Purphoros never hits his necessary devotion and keeps assemble the legion as a serious threat.
