Boros, with a Tajic Plot Twist

Standard Aggro RW (Boros)

Is a slower Boros Deck doomed to fail?

I'm looking to get try FNM. This is the deck I'm considering using. I've read about how a fast Boros loves card-sets like Champion of the Parish + Gather the Townsfolk , Lightning Mauler, Silverblade Paladin, etc; but those aren't legal anymore. So, I'm thinking of raising the mana curve to be creature-heavy in 3/4-drops and a game-changing Aurelia, the Warleader, and see if I can slow Boros down a little for fun and profit.

Am I barking up the wrong tree here? Can a slower Boros hold its own in FNM?

After getting hammered by my son's Gruul deck, I have put some of my heavier hitters back in and trimmed some protection and support, opting for burn. I thought chaining his beasts to the rocks was going to be more frustrating for him, but it was me flipping the table over when he Frenzied Tillinged my mountains or cast Destructive Revelry while smirking.

Took out Skyknight Legionnaire, Viashino Firstblade, and Titan's Strength. Side-boarded Chained to the Rocks and brought Firemane Avenger and Warleader's Helix back in.

If I can't stand up to his pauper Gruul deck, what hope will I have when at the next FNM?

Thanks for reading.
