Yea between that, the new O-ring Banishing Light , Godsend , and Athreos, God of Passage in conjunction with Xathrid Necromancer , mono white or black white are both looking very strong for the upcoming standard. I'm still trying to hold onto dega but so far I haven't seen a whole lot of cards that benefit the dega build.

why are you running only 1 Stormbreath Dragon ? I am using a similar deck and running 4 and I have found that it's one of the best cards in the deck

@donut888:

Stormbreath Dragon is great don't get me wrong, but since he only has pro white Blood Baron of Vizkopa is more resilient as he also has pro black. Since monoblack is still a heavy presence in the meta, I think he made the right call with less than 4. I will concede that he should up the count, but to 2 and not 4.

Another win con that it is fighting for its place at 5 CMC is Obzedat, Ghost Council . HE is also more resilient to Supreme Verdict and sorcery speed removal like Dreadbore and Mizzium Mortars . He isn't running very many threats and he wants them to stick when he does cast one. These options give me the best chance for that

@donut888 @harrydemon117 : Another problem of Stormbreath Dragon is that not only he is much weaker due to his lack of protection from black, but he takes, like Blood Baron of Vizkopa , Mizzium Mortars , and, he also takes Arbor Colossus , which to me is huge (and part of why I don't think Desecration Demon is that good, especially in our Dega shell). He gets blocked, and he can be targeted when the Colossus becomes monstrous.

To me, Stormbreath Dragon is a planeswalker sniper, because most of the time, he takes a removal immediately after he finishes his first turn. Question now is, do we need a creature that's only a planeswalker sniper ?

I think it's best as a sideboard option myself. 1 main is fine but another or 3 in the side vs control is great. Hastey creatures that are as you call them "planeswalker snipers" are situational cards and should be brought in from the sideboard games 2-3

Hey so first and foremost, I love this deck. I'm working on my own version of it currently.

And in regards to the Deicide /Boros Charm dilemma, I would probably just put Deicide in your sideboard. The Charm is almost always relevant, while Deicide may not be, especially with the heavy removal in the deck.

Something to consider may be Banishing Light since its a bit more versatile. Although at sorcery speed and one turn later.
