Eldrazi Displacer is our MVP here. It can flicker creatures at instant speed through Mage-Ring Network, Unknown Shores, and Wastes; the latter of which can be fetched by Pilgrim's Eye. Early game when you are almost total defense, he is also great for taking enemies out of combat and stripping them buck naked.
You have probably guessed that Reflector Mage is our head cheerleader (Read: Thing you want bouncing.) The power it has to keep creatures off the board and stall out opponents is amazing. And we really want to stall the opponent, so hard eventually they can't do anything.
Thought-Knot Seer is another strong cheerleader. When dressed in Mirror Mockery it is like Transgress the Mind on steroids every turn for free, but even when being flipped by Eldrazi Displacer the power you have to make your opponent draw and then you choose a card they ditch really keeps their hand weak.
This deck cannot miss land drops. Early game they are essential to not getting our teeth kicked in, and mid to late game they are the juice for Eldrazi Displacer and all your instants. This is where Pilgrim's Eye cheers like a champ. It makes sure the mana keeps flowing while thinning your deck to draw into some more meat.
Speaking or drawing into the meat. Our coach, Jace, Unraveler of Secrets, is fantastic for helping us run through the deck and find what we need when we need it. As a bonus, he often times gets aggro jerks off our back while we set up, he inspires some bouncing in a bind, and if he gets fully online it is game over. Between counter spells, returning things to opponent's hand, and selecting what stays in their hand, trying to waste a spell before they start each turn is an impossible task.
Mid to late game Linvala, the Preserver and Archangel Avacyn can turn into finishers. The goth angel is a little cheaper and a lot faster. This gets her into the action a lot sooner and she provides some bouncing protection. Linvala can help you get your life back, and in the event of a party she likes to bring friends. Both girls like to bounce and both can can fly in for the money shot. But Linvala is pretty needy. She is expensive and only comes on your turn, so she just barely makes the cut for first string.
