Hmmm... From what I see you may be a bit creature heavy. However this is not always a bad thing, especially when the ones you have on board wont go away. You need to exploit that. My advise: Go for a few less non-undying creatures like Vampire InterloperMTG Card: Vampire Interloper, Crossway VampireMTG Card: Crossway Vampire and/or Bloodcrazed NeonateMTG Card: Bloodcrazed Neonate for cards like FlingMTG Card: Fling, Altar's ReapMTG Card: Altar's Reap and Infernal PlungeMTG Card: Infernal Plunge. Infernal PlungeMTG Card: Infernal Plunge will be perfect to bring out the other expensive vampires. You could also trade in Sorin's ThirstMTG Card: Sorin's Thirst for some spells as well, in the long run it is just too strict on casting requirements for what it does in my opinion.

Also, Olivia VoldarenMTG Card: Olivia Voldaren is fun.

Just some food for thought. Really there is a lot you can do to improve the deck, how you do it is up to you. That's my fifty cents.

I might have gone in a different direction than I originally intended. An undying vamps deck would be very impressive, might work on one later.

Have you considered running Falkenrath AristocratMTG Card: Falkenrath Aristocrat in conjunction with Traitorous BloodMTG Card: Traitorous Blood? Take a creature, attack all out, sacrifice it before end of turn.

I've been playing Vampires for a while, and it's my opinion Bloodlord of VaasgothMTG Card: Bloodlord of Vaasgoth is a little too high in mana cost to be practical.

Also the +1/+1 counters creatures are gaining from Curse of Stalked PreyMTG Card: Curse of Stalked Prey, their passives or even from Bloodlord causes Undying EvilMTG Card: Undying Evil to not function as well as you would probably want.

If I have any advice to give, it would be my suggestion to run 4 Blackcleave CliffsMTG Card: Blackcleave Cliffs, 4x Dragonskull SummitMTG Card: Dragonskull Summit, go up to 22 lands in total. Take out the SangromancerMTG Card: Sangromancer, Child of NightMTG Card: Child of Night, Undying EvilMTG Card: Undying Evil and Bloodlord of VaasgothMTG Card: Bloodlord of Vaasgoth, add in 4x Volt ChargeMTG Card: Volt Charge, 2x Tezzeret's GambitMTG Card: Tezzeret's Gambit, and run a full playset of Curse of Stalked PreyMTG Card: Curse of Stalked Prey.

Hope that at least gives you some more ideas.

Hmmm...With so many counters, maybe you should consider Volt ChargeMTG Card: Volt Charge or Tezzeret's GambitMTG Card: Tezzeret's Gambit?

Trust me when i tell you you want to run Child of NightMTG Card: Child of Night. In standard format, very few are running life again. She is especially deadly when she comes out turn 2, and then a turn 3 Stromkirk CaptainMTG Card: Stromkirk Captain. You now have a 3/2 first strike, but most importantly Lifelink. I can't stress enough how good lfielink is, and you won't truly understand until you play with it. Try mainboarding 4 Child of NightMTG Card: Child of Night you won't be disappointed.

Except Child of NightMTG Card: Child of Night dies to Gut ShotMTG Card: Gut Shot and even a non-triggered Tragic SlipMTG Card: Tragic Slip. Also, Y U NO Rakish HeirMTG Card: Rakish Heir?

Definitely 100% needs at least 3 Rakish HeirMTG Card: Rakish Heir

I would suggest the switch between Rakish HeirMTG Card: Rakish Heir and Curse of Stalked PreyMTG Card: Curse of Stalked Prey. Also possibly finding a spot for Tezzeret's GambitMTG Card: Tezzeret's Gambit, possibly even switching it for Volt ChargeMTG Card: Volt Charge. The card draw could potentially be more useful than the damage since you are already swinging for a ton anyway.

-2 Falkenrath Marauders its too slow. +3 Bloodline Keeper One of the COOLEST Vampier lords! 1- Child of Night.. -1 doom blade, my reasoning is Volt Charge Will be soooo much better for you. And try to find a way to get +2 Olivia Voldaren it Super good!!!!!!

drop the drowned catacomb and a plains for an island and another evolving wilds.

Sounds counterproductive i know.

You only need 1 white source to cast sorin. 2 plains and 2 evolving wilds gives you a 1/15 chance of getting your white source per card drawn. 1 plains and 3 evolving wilds is the same 1/15 chance. Adding in an island quadruples your odds of getting the blue source that was in drowned catacomb by bumping it up to the same chance as the plains.

Bloodline Keeper, Stromkirk Captain Are much better cards. i think you can use Falkenrath Marauders in a SB... It nice to get some one playing Control and there tapped out the having him come out but he really is just to much for too little... And put 3 Olivia Voldaren in your side too. I think she should be in your deck but if you think you can bet Mono bule and Mono black dont run her.

Take a peak at my Vamp deck http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/grixis-beatdown/ It runs very different but it runs well. Its only a fun deck I created for friendly games but it packs a punch and worth a look, because its a different approach to vamps.

Take a look at I blame Twilight for all the Vamp Hate.. It did very well at my local FNM, and only a few decks at the time were prepared to face it. By curving out at 4 CMC, I was able to drop threats consistently, especially with Stromkirk Captain on the field.

This was all pre-M13, so take the advice with a grain of salt I guess.

4x Bonfire of the Damned or bust.

Seriously. That card is so broken, it's not even funny. EVEN without the Miracle, it's still a 3-mana "Kill all your opponent's mana-dorks and little dudes".

Magmaquake is helpful for getting rid of your opponents creatures and walkers.

zandl: I actually got extremely lucky because the first 2 Avacyn Restored packs I opened, I got those and I didn'y really come to realize just how powerful they were until I used em a couple times. I will now be looking for at least one more, but I've heard that they are pretty expensive so it might be a while hahahah. Thanks!

BossLeiser: Wow! That card is pretty tight! It's definitely something I will have to get soon! Thanks!!

Falkenrath Aristocrat has won me a number of games. In a deck based on aggro, aggro, and more aggro, 4 hasted damage in the air is hard to beat. She's also really hard to kill when faced with traditional removal.

Olivia Voldaren is really good, too, but my opinion of her is that she fits better in a control shell. The way I envision playing the deck, I don't usually have the free mana to make use of her abilities. That being said, I've never used her in one of my decks, so I have never seen her full potential.

Running both may not be a bad idea, but I think my preferred 4-drop slot would be 4x Falkenrath Aristocrat and 2x Vampire Nocturnus .

August 2, 2012 10:41 p.m.

BlueWolf15 says... #23

landgrafb thinking back, I have always just played Voldaren because I just have her in my hand and want to try and divert attention away for a bit, but that usually only lasts for like a turn, maybe two. I never do get to use her ability except maybe once or twice, so I will try going with the Aristocrat when I get my hands on one. Thanks a lot!

August 2, 2012 10:52 p.m.

I updated my I blame Twilight for all the Vamp Hate. for how I would personally run this style of deck in the current standard. I dropped all red cards except Stromkirk Noble to try to make the most of Vampire Nocturnus . The whole purpose of this build is swing, swing, swing until you win. The speed of this deck, combined with instant-speed removal, can be very hard to deal with for most decks.

Ditch the guildgate and the evolving wilds. I know they're expensive, but try to get the Blood Crypt . Also since you're going full vampire tribal, get some Cavern of Souls in there. Other than that, I'm diggin the deck
