I'll preface this by saying that this is definitely a rogue deck that I have modified from a Standard deck I tried to run back in Scars Standard. I stopped playing for a while after putting this together and am just getting back into constructed and decided this was an okay place to start but would love some help deciding if it's even remotely viable.

Bloodchief Ascension is an all star when activated on turn 4, or sooner with Shock Land help, but the rest of the deck is a pretty standard turn creatures side ways deck with a burn package.

Bloodghast is great when he turns a late game land into a threat and is a disheartening target for an opponents +1 or -2 on Liliana of the Veil.

I'm fairly unfamiliar with the Modern meta but I did take this to my first small local event yesterday and came out 2-1 and IDed to a 4th place finish. After the first round I was concerned that this deck was purely outclassed when I went 0-2 to a BGW Junk deck running Liliana of the Veil. I definitely made a big misplay by removing his untapped Birds of Paradise instead of the tapped Siege Rhino and swung into a Restoration Angel.

After that 1st round the rest of the day went a much more smoothly. I out paced the RW Burn deck I faced in Round 2 and was able to beat the UWR Control deck in Round 3 with an unanswered top deck Bump in the Night in Game 3 after he got stuck with 2 Cryptic Command in hand and only 2 blue sources in Game 1.

I'll definitely be adding 4 x Blood Crypt if I decide to keep running this build but I don't have them yet and have other places to spend my Magic funds if this isn't something I will keep playing.

The Maybeboard has some options that I can't decide on.

Blood Artist would be useful when faced with a board wipe but I'm not sure it's good enough to make the 75 even with a Stromkirk Captain active to make it a 1/2.

Inquisition of Kozilek would be useful against Control as early disruption or to make sure the path is clear for the game winning swing or burn spell but I'm not sure what I cut to fit it in.

Rain of Gore could be useful against Soul Sisters and the like but I'm not sure it's prevalent enough in my meta to make the cut when it hurts my Bloodchief strategy as well.

I feel like Rakdos Charm should win games against other creature heavy decks and doubles as Artifact hate since that's something I don't have in this deck but again I'm not sure what to cut.
