Planeswalker (2)

Sorcery (1)

Land (1)

Artifact (1)

Brago wins by locking down the board, followed by breaking parity through either Brago himself or his various planeswalkers.

This normally goes about in the following steps:

  1. ESTABLISHING MANA / BRAGO

Since Brago lets us double up on our mana artifacts (that don't have costs like Mox Diamond), you tend to want to get him out as soon as possible. The sooner Brago is out, the sooner you can lock up the game. That being said, some metas are going to be fast enough that you can't afford to spend 4 mana on your commander in the first few turns of the game. If that's the case, proceed to step 2.

  1. SLOWING DOWN THE GAME

This being a stax list, we have lots of pieces that can slow down the game. However, one thing that they all have in common is that they leave our artifact mana unscathed. So, if the game looks like it's going to go quickly, it might be necessary to drop a stax piece sooner rather than later. Choosing between steps 1 and 2 tends to be the main choice this deck has every game, though most of the time our hand will dictate for us what we should do.

So, assume we have survived the first few turns. Brago is out, flickering our ETBs every turn, untapping our mana rocks, doubling up our planeswalkers, and untapping himself so we're still good under Stasis. How do we win?

  1. Slow, steady beats. This deck only has a couple real combos, so most of this game's wins are going to be through regular damage. You have a few creatures, the deck can make Karnstruct tokens, and you have a lot of time on your hands.

  2. Lavinia, Azorius Renegade + Knowledge Pool: This deck can also lock opponents out of the game. With these two, your opponents can no longer resolve spells.

  3. Strionic Resonator + Brago, King Eternal: Assuming you have 2 mana in mana rocks, you can infinitely trigger brago's ability with Resonator. This can either lead to infinite mana to draw our deck with Staff of Domination, milling your opponents with Induced Amnesia, infinite walker activations with The Chain Veil, or playing your deck with Scroll of Fate, which leads to infinite planeswalker activations.

  4. Mana Breach + Mystic Sanctuary + Time Warp: Infinite turns. This can also be done with Brago and Oath of Teferi or Felidar Guardian instead of Mana Breach
