An attempt at a competitive list for Braids, Conjurer Adept

Deck Overview & Gameplan

While admitedly not considered a tier-one cEDH commander, this deck uses Braids, Conjurer Adept to win the game by putting threats like Eldrazi, Blightsteel Colossus or Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur onto the battlefield for free, while using almost all mana for instant speed interaction or card draw. Braids is also unique in that she can get combo pieces like Isochron Scepter on the battlefield not only for free but through a triggered ability which circumvents traditional counter magic.

Sleeper Picks and Deckbuliding Traps

Two cool cards I want to highlight that are particularly effective in this deck are Energy Tap and Riptide Shapeshifter:

Energy Tap is a sorcery speed ritual which in this deck regularly nets 10+ colorless for just one blue mana, often allowing you to tap your summoning sick beaters to hardcast more big boys outright.

With Riptide Shapeshifter on the battlefield, you can tutor up a threat like Blightsteel Colossus, Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur or an Eldrazi to the battlefield at instant speed for just four mana. Other targets include Body Double to effectively recur any creature in the graveyard or a boardsweep in the form of Kederekt Leviathan.

Some notable exclusions:

Paradox Haze and Strionic Resonator were initially included in this list but they often ended up stuck in my hand or on the board not really doing much of anything. In fact, I am now convinced those cards are deckbuliding traps for a list like this. Since the plan is NOT to dump your entire hand and pray your opponents don't have answers, Paradox Haze and Strionic Resonator didn't quite fit the tempo of this list. Although when they did work out it was pretty cool, they ultimately were cut in favor of interaction and card draw.
