Although you're probably right about Nykthos, I can't afford to buy the shocklands. They're rotating it soon, too so they're a little unsavoury to me. On that note, I like having the 2x Mana Confluence in this deck for Nightveil, plus they also act as the sixth red mana source. I don't want to slow the deck down, either.

It has been suggested to me to take out a Whip of Erebos and Rescue from the Underworld for 2 more Underworld Connections , because relying on returning a Gray Merchant of Asphodel is a conditional, whereas having 4x Underworld Connections speeds the deck up, especially against Esper Control. While I understand the concept, I feel like that completely nullifies a win-con, as well as negates the lifelink my creatures would gain. Then again, I'd still have 1x Whip of Erebos , so the possibility isn't 0% .
I was even told I could keep them all in if I replace Elixir of Immortality with Rakdos's Return for the sideboard, using the empty mainboard spots where RR went to Sideboard for UC.
Thoughts?

I think that if you have one Whip of Erebos is not good, I've won tons of games with the life gain keeping me alive, and whipping back a pack rat, and winning with the tokens I have made. Whip of Erebos has quickly become my favourite card. Having the Underworld Connections just gives more consistency, and draw power for those long grindy games, when its needed to pull ahead. in combination with Whip of Erebos to cushion the life loss, you can't only rely on Gray Merchant of Asphodel for the life gain.
My reccomendation would be to keep in the two Whip of Erebos , and look elsewhere for the extra slot or two

Sometimes it's hard to ignore people. I ended up taking the Elixir of Immortality out of the sideboard and put 2 more Underworld Connections in their place. Like you said, they're handy against lengthier games, specifically, Esper Control or Jund, and should speed me up quite a bit.

I just HAD to do it. I took out 3x Doomblade and 1x Duress for 4x Slaughter Games to readjust the sideboard for U/W and Esper Control decks. Literally the bane of my existence, and I want to crush them, and leave them in the dust like some kind of freshly bloodied roadkill.

PS- also slapped in 4x Blood Crypt because I'll be able to get them this week.

Comment wipe. This deck just gets better and better.
Comment. +1 Upvote. Suggest.
Remember, Lifebane Zombie and Pack Rats are no-shows for this deck.
The most recent FNM update was without Blood Crypt , Slaughter Games and Dreadbore . I'm actually thinking taking Devour Flesh out may not be wise.
Thank you!

Hey man, I was just playtesting this deck against my own...

You need to add an extra land and take out expensive cards like Rakdos's Return (maybe replace them with 2 more cheap kill-spells?) so that your mana curve is more consistent.
I was hit hard at the beginning of most of the games I playtested with this deck, but I quickly started to gain a bunch of life, so 2 Erebos, God of the Dead would be awesome, maybe you could take out 2 of your 4 Underworld Connections in exchange???
Take out 4 Master of the Feast for 4 Herald of Torment !!! The card advantage you gave me, even with the hand destruction you had, helped me restock my hand and pump my creatures up enough to deal lethal damage to you before Master of the Feast could kill me.
Overall, it's still an awesome deck!

Thanks. I appreciate the feedback. Erebos is in my sideboard. I have major plans for Brain Tap 2.0 upon rotation, but for now Rakdos's Return had to stay. I've ended games with it.

@A12m994, did Grey Merchant nor the whip enter the battlefield?

You should take out the 2x Mana Confluence , add 2 more Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx . Also, I'm thinking that if you want to make sure you can get your red mana, then take out 4 swamps, and add 4x Blood Crypt .
This is turning into quite the deck, awesome job dude!
