Predator's Rapport seem more white, and it could be Predator's Rapport plus Voracious Wurm

Here's my version of this deck I was talking about earlier: http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/evolve-and-win/

I'm still tweaking it though, and probably will remove the Progenitor Mimic in favor of Prophet of Kruphix when Theros releases.

+1 Love the deck, I'm going to try it out today. Here's what I'm working on for when Theros comes out: Big Booty Bitches.

I think you need more 1-drops and more ramp, aka 4x Elvish Mystic . To make room, I'd lose Plasm Capture and 1x Strionic Resonator . Here's my reasoning:

Plasm Capture is weak because it requires you to leave 4 mana untapped just to counter a spell. This heavily limits your tempo, especially since you aren't a control deck and you want to be playing creatures every turn.

Strionic Resonator is better at 2x because A) it's consequential (meaning it isn't always good) and B) having more than one in hand / in play isn't that useful. I mean yes, you can use both, but are you really gonna have 4 untapped mana to do that with? I'd rather see only one Resonator at a time.

Anyway, hopefully you agree with that advice. Good luck with your deck!

The resonator is a card that I wanna see nearly every game, so 3 seems right. Plasm Capture is an awesome counter for this deck. Yes it costs four, but with the charm and Savage Summoning I tend to have mana untapped anyways, not to mention the fantastic sage. Plus once I throw that capture out once, people hesitate when I've got untapped mana

Predator's Rapport seems less than ideal. Fog can often be better, and works when you don't have absurdly large creatures. Cancel should be Dissipate / Syncopate / not cancel.

MagmaBladez says... #9

Actually, he might just drop Cancel for Dissolve , literally same card and cost, with the added bonus of scry 1.

Your ultimate hand T5 combo is wrong. T1: Island , Cloudfin Raptor (0/1), T2: Hinterland Harbor , Gyre Sage (1/2), Cloudfin Raptor is now a (1/2), T3: Forest , Vorel of the Hull Clade , Cloudfin Raptor (2/3), Gyre Sage (2/3), T4: Hinterland Harbor , Kalonian Hydra (4/4), Cloudfin Raptor (3/4), Gyre Sage (3/4), T5: Island , you have 7 mana total: 5 lands and 2 on Gyre Sage ... tap 2 for Strionic Resonator , tap 2 to activate double with Vorel of the Hull Clade , and then you must tap Gyre Sage to activate Strionic Resonator on Kalonian Hydra trigger. Cloudfin Raptor has 3 counters (double-double) makes it a 12/13. Gyre Sage is tapped, but has 2 counters (double-double) makes it a (9/10). You are swinging for a max of 32 Kalonian Hydra + 12 Cloudfin Raptor = 44

The rapport is coming out. Magma, you're right on with Dissolve . And thanks for catching that arithmetic error I made about the combo, not sure what I was thinking, but still, 44 damage should get the point across lol. I will fix that asap though

Ya, no problem, played it last night but didn't have all the pieces for the deck. None the less I stomped on a few people, but got mana screwed against a few people. All in all it was a decent day. On the games that I did destroy, the synergy was pretty awesome. :D

That's awesome. I have ben loving this deck man, fantastic synergy.

one suggestion : Witchstalker very healty

Calanor says... #15

Why not Primordial Hydra vs Kalonian Hydra ? It's cheaper to bring out and doesn't require you to attack with it.

September 12, 2013 4:18 p.m.

mpeach1 says... #16

Well for one, the Primrdial is gonna be rotating out, and Kalonian will not. For two, the primordials counters alone double, as to where the kalonian doubles all of my creatures' counters

RuskiJim says... #17

Absolutely killer deck, I love it (except the 3 Kalonian Hydra , thats just too hardcore for me... haha), seems to work flawlessly together.

Do you think you could offer some critique on my simic deck? I'd appreciate any help man, thanks, Simic - Why You Should Care

I played this deck at FNM and it was just destroyed. 3-2, it just isn't fast enough.

September 14, 2013 11:02 p.m.

mpeach1 says... #19

I tend to disagree. This deck runs very fast for me. I have trouble with removal heavy decks but that's about it

September 15, 2013 2:35 a.m.

Wizmin says... #20

i remember someone already suggested this card before you cleaned up your comments, but if you have trouble with removal heavy maybe consider sideboarding Ranger's Guile for those Predator's Rapport ? idk if you've determined that 24 lands is absolutely necessary also, so you might even be able to take out 2 lands for it since Gyre Sage can usually keep the mana pool sitting pretty. just a thought. regardless this is still such a sexy deck. when theros comes out im gonna try to run it with a Shipbreaker Kraken instead of Progenitor Mimic just to see if i can pull it off (and yelling "release the kraken!" sounds fun too).

September 15, 2013 4:03 a.m.

mpeach1 says... #21

Lmao release the kraken ftw. I'm excited for Prophet of Kruphix

September 15, 2013 10:13 a.m.

JadEgg says... #22

Prophet instead of Mimic seems super solid.

September 15, 2013 4:43 p.m.

Casino647 says... #23

Well Thassa, God of the Sea could definitely fit, almost doesn't matter about the devotion part of it, it's solid as an enchantment already, 1U target creature can't be blocked, YES PLEASE. Scry is also very useful and if the devotion part works out that's a 5/5 creature, ALL for 3U

September 15, 2013 4:57 p.m.

MagmaBladez says... #24

@Casino647 - all for 2U*

@mpeach1 - yes I believe Prophet of Kruphix would be a great addition. Drop that bad boy and next turn you can protect you if you have a counter spell or Simic Charm . Otherwise flash in that hydra to seal the deal.

As for Thassa, God of the Sea , there's no real question whether it's good or not, it's whether you need it. Try testing your deck a couple times, and with each card draw ask yourself "Would I rather this be Thassa right now". If you consistently wish the same card was Thassa, plop her fat ass in there. If you know you can reliably hit 3 mana, my initial suggestion would be to drop the 3x Shambleshark put in 2x Thassa, God of the Sea and one other card, like Renegade Krasis or Gyre Sage . That's my 2 cents.
