So far no on the victimize. Thats one of the reasons I am using a decent number of creatures. My early testing makes me think 30 lands might be a bit low. I need to make at least 3 cuts to address my land issues and add DD for George. Any thoughts?
As for sharuum, I just think the combo is cool as hell. The fact it works fairly well and can win the game without Breya is also kind of nice. Worse case scenario Sharuum recurs a combo piece off a reanimate or animate dead.

Chrome Mox, Skullclamp, and T4T seem lackluster, IMO. I'll give Sharuum a whirl! Throwback to my first love, anyways. :)

mtgThaen: So what are your thoughts on Lion's Eye Diamond and Auriok Salvagers as a compact win condition for Breya? I can tutor for salvagers with Imperial Recruiter and LED is already in the deck.
Also what is your DD pile for George? Do you you think Thought Scour is necessary?
I am starting to feel like with the salvager's combo and George we may have the speed needed to get this gal into fringe tier 1 territory.

I have added the Bomberman combo. I feel it's strong. I'm removing Sharuum and I've already thrown out DD. I hate it lol. Too much trouble. I definitely think we can get her to T1

I'm glad you have not found DD to be worth it. I cut displacer and peregrine drake because its never faster than turn 4. I am sticking with Sharuum for now because hes a good form of recursion, outside the combo. Reshape becomes a great tutor with bomberman combo and it makes Goblin Dark-Dwellers even more broken.

mtgThaen: I honestly think the two combo shell with tons of disruption is the way to go. Its so compact and both combos are capable of going off really early due to how inexpensive they are. I got a couple turn 2 wins earlier this morning after updating my deck and most my other wins were turn 3 to 5 often with protection. I still have the occasional dud, but with further tweaking it could seriously be a legit tier 1 combo control deck

Sample George DD pile from top to bottom
Any creature
Dance of the Dead in case the original gets countered.
Potential Bomberman DD pile
I think a simple 2 card DD package may work and we can win the turn DD is cast if we have a cantrip in hand. Thoughts?

Actually seems really solid! I'll change my list to make it reflect this idea, but with some differences. I like both recruiters, for instance. I also like more ramp, so I'll use the signets as well. I'll let you know how it's goes.

mtgThaen: Wholly cow dude! I am beginning to think that Breya is the best commander in the set. Shes is at least a turn faster on average than my sharuum mesmerium build. Lately in playtesting I am getting somewhat frequent turn 2-3 wins now.
Why is she so good? She kills the table with two extremely compact combos that are
1) Capable of turn 1 victories
2) Share an extremely compact and easy to assemble doomsday pile.
Her color scheme has tons of wheels to combo with Notion Thief to protect those combos and draw 20+ cards.
Since the combos take almost no deckslots she can run a great ramp and control package to stall the table while also progressing her gameplan.
I'm not a fan of the signets to be honest, but please tell me how they do for you. The talismans are great because after I play them I can use them immediately for countermagic, cantrips or tutors. I may try out recruiter of the guard as it gets Notion Thief, which is the best form of protection for our combo's. For bomberman we may need proactive protection since he nukes our hand. Cards like Mausoleum Wanderer would do double duty by filling our yards with creatures for george. I am also quite intruiged by Grand Abolisher since he locks opponents out of our combo turn.
October 31, 2016 7:15 p.m. Edited.
I like the signets for their filtering. I just run both lol. Wanderer sounds good. Since we are using more creatures, abolisher may be really good. However, I still like Ad Naus. I feel that it will win the game with our easy combos.
October 31, 2016 9:48 p.m.
I see you've seen the light of Ad Naus! lol! Yeah, with a cmc < 2, it's too tempting not to. Necro is bonkers, too, but you have your reasons. I think that if we can draw enough (say, 30), then we can find some way to win. I suppose that is one of the reasons I also have labman: it just makes some wins super easy.
I've updated my list. I am happy with it so far, but I'm sure some tweaks will be made.

Hi. Loving your deck so far. Think youve convinced me to buy breyas deck. Ive been wanting a combo deck to build. Do you plan on doing a card by card analysis when you have everything finalized?

Revenantmike: Thank you :-) mtgThaen and I will be working on the primer over the next week or so and yes we will break down all the important card interactions and choices.

Looks great. Love how your deck has turned out. Im thinking of going more of an engine route for my breya deck. Does the ashnods and mantle combo not work well with your setup?

Revenantmike: Thanks man :-) Unfortunately they do not synergize well with this build. I would love to have a "safe" combo but adding 2 essentially dead cards really hurts. I am banking on the effeciency of my combos allowing me to run alot of protection spells. I would like a third safe combo. Do you kind posting your build?

I was building my own but cam across a list
Breya Engine: Angry Esper Queen
Commander / EDH*
SCORE: 1 | 119 VIEWS | IN 2 FOLDERS
by Stefouch. Ill be following his deck in all likelihood with a few tweaks for my meta

It is fun that Breya's lovers can recognize themselves.
I was following this nice combo-heavy decklist because it seems really strong.
Then I saw someone sharing my engine version here. So fun!

Stefouch,Lilbrudder: i like both decks very much. I just wish i had access to the mana rocks and lands you guys do. Not having original duals and those rocks hurts like hell.

Revenantmike: Yeah...Anti green is extremely dependent on an optimized mana base :-/ If you can't afford the duals an artifact heavy build is far more appropriate than mine.
Stefouch: I like your take on Breya as well :-)
November 19, 2016 5:46 p.m.
What're your thoughts on Prismatic Lens? While I appreciate that it's weaker than a lot of mana rocks, inside of George combo it will guarantee that you get the mana you need.

I think dramatic scepter might fit in well here since its another 2 card combo that just kills the table with Breya out and while both pieces aren't as good on their own I don't think they're dead draws most of the time especially not Dramatic reversal.

enpc: I am not a big fan since I can't use it for many things outside the george combo. It has some advantages over signets so if I decide to add another rock I will test it out and see how it goes. Usually, I try to only use 2cc mana rocks that allow me to cast a counterspell or topdeck tutor the same turn cycle (i.e talismans).
HarroHunter: I think dramatic scepter is great in certain decks (i.e Azami, Oona, Elfball). Those decks have very good reasons to run a high concentration of nonland permanent acceleration and tap effects. For such decks dramatic scepter resembles a 2 card combo most games. For this deck I often have an insufficient number of rocks in play to make good use of the combo once I draw the pieces. Since I also need rocks that can tap for every color but green as well thats just too many hoops to jump through at the moment. I really like black rituals and am trying to run just the best artifact ramp since the deck can often win the game for between 3-5 mana. The most mana intensive combo I use is Notion Thief + Winds of Change , which can effectively all but end the game by turn 2-5 since I can combo off nearly uncontested. If I decide to add more rocks, such as what enpc suggested I may give it another go.

Dramatic scepter ? You mean Isochron Scepter, don't you ?

I like your use of Buried Alive + Victimize. Do you ever have trouble getting a creature to sacrifice in play? I think that using Ashnod's Altar over KCI is better, as you have done, since we aren't really focusing on eggs. I'm going to change my list a bit to reflect some of the things I like about yours, such as removing some of my cost reducers/rituals, adding BA+Vic, and adding more loot/draw effects. I don't know if I'm sold on Sharuum just yet, but if I like the BA combo, I'll probably test her.
How do you feel about your land count? Do you think 30 may be too low? I was running close to 35, but that was too much. I'm on 32 now, but if you are having few problems with yours, I may try shaving some off.
