Commander: Gwafa Hazid, Profiteer

Recently picked up a copy of Gwafa Hazid, Profiteer and began brewing a commander deck. The goal of the deck is to use Gwafa's ability to lock down the board opponent's creatures, gaining incremental card advantage, detaining things, and eventually just leave all opponents with a bunch of dead cards on the board.

The deck relies off of two creatures to provide it's big finishers; Iona, Shield of Emeria and Avacyn, Angel of Hope. If either hits the board and resolves in the late game, everything is pretty much over. In addition, Gideon Jura and Elspeth, Knight-Errant prevent opponents from interacting with my side of the board.

Blind Obedience: Being a control deck, this efficiently priced and powerful enchantment is very important. The ability to have creatures enter tapped buys me turns against aggressive commanders, gives Gideon Jura free targets to snipe at, and is quite flavorful to extort with a commander named "Profiteer".

Supreme Verdict, Wrath of God, and Divine Reckoning : Because the board has to be controlled. Supreme Verdict gets the nod over Day of Judgment because it can't be countered, and Divine Reckoning can be flashed back, plus allowing Gwafa to stay on the field while every creature that he bribed dies.

Gideon Jura: No one attacks me, they just attack Gideon. And when needed, Gideon is a great beatstick and can be useful for sniping off opponent's big creatures thanks to Blind Obedience and Tamiyo.

Ghostly Prison, Sphere of Safety, and Norn's Annex: These cards prevent me from being attacked, and with Gwafa, that's very important.

Tamiyo, the Moon Sage: Mostly there to lock the board down, but she does help with card advantage. I don't personally bother with her ultimate.

Minamo, School on Water's Edge: Let's Gwafa bribe as often as possible.

Keiga, the Tide Star, Control Magic, Roil Elemental, Mind Control , Volition Reins , and Conjured Currency: Though most of creatures will be locked down by Gwafa bribing them, sometimes it's fun to take your opponent's stuff. Keiga also lets do this while being a nice beatstick.

Elspeth, Knight-Errant: Mostly there to enable damage to get through by giving creatures free flying. If I don't get Avacyn out, her ultimate is worth playing off of and essentially prevents opponent's from interacting with my side of the board.

Three Dreams: Tutoring auras rocks.

Illusionist's Bracers: This is very fun when you are able to double bribe with Gwafa.
