I like it, but far too costly for removal.. I'm actually making more updates soon to make for quicker play. Just played in a very large open series event and went 3-4-2. I'll make that update along with some changes to decklist. Thanks for the suggestion though!!

Tidehollow Sculler seems like a better choice than Sin Collector. Even though it's temporary removal, it adds more options for removal and is cheaper. Dismember seems like it would be better than Unmake, because it can be cheaper, and most things die to -5-5 anyway. Also some fetches would be fantastic to help thing out your deck. Fun build, and nice to see black/white in modern that isn't tokens. +1

Cutting Ethereal Armor seemed like a good idea. The addition of Tidehollow Scullers while keeping the Sin Collectors and Inquisition of Kozileks really keeps the pressure on. The constant hand disruption, with the mid range beats really keeps the race on, and while testing this against my control deck, if I couldn't keep hand advantage, I basically lost when I started top decking. Stillmoon Cavalier is pretty good to, as it's a worse AEtherling (which is still great) thats cheaper and has protection from Path to Exile, which is crazy good. Only other suggestion I would make is maybe bring Deathbringer Liege down to 3. Either way your making me want to build Black White mid range.

I appreciate the assessment! I'm going to take it to a modern open in Baltimore on the weekend of the 28th so I'll post those results, and we'll see how the changes fair. I'm thoroughly excited to see how the combination of disruption, removal, and creature firepower works against the field!
As a sidenote: I actually have been on the fence about taking Deathbringer Liege down to 3.. It's really tough though because if it resolves and sticks on the board, then that's nearly always an absolute win-con. I'm trying to think of ways to get a slight ramp into the Liege's.. Let me know if you have any ideas about that!

The reason I think you should bring it down t o three is cause, while its not to expensive, you can get dead draws with it. Furthermore it doesn't do much against decks without alot of creatuers or against creatures like Geist of Saint Traft. I'd probably put in something like a Damnation or Wrath of God in it's place, to help clear the board against Young Pyromancers and the like.

Yeah, I'll definitely board out more of them against those decks. I don't think it would be ideal to run Damnation or Wrath of God as I'm running 26 creatures myself at the moment.

Ah! Just had a potential SB idea. I could run Zealous Persecution and it would act as a board wipe against Young Pyromancer, Snapcaster Mage, Birds of Paradise, Noble Hierarch, Glistener Elf, Blighted Agent, and pretty much all of affinity! And of course, I'll get a small attack buff out of it as well! Then there's also the ability to wipe out any number of 1/1 tokens!

Zealous Persecution very good both main and sb

Thanks for the deck compliment! I'm excited to see how this version of the deck runs for the weekend (Modern Open in Baltimore). I should have thought about Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth before! Great suggestion! In terms of my land base, should I swap out 1 for 1 with a Swamp? Also, in terms of Athreos, God of Passage he's not a terrible option, but I actually did run him in this deck for the longest time. I found that a majority of the time, it was hard, if not impossible, to maintain or get to 7 devotion, so the question was, "Is his enchantment ability worth 3 mana?" I decided this was not the case, and I boarded him out almost every single game.

Added some cards to the Maybeboard! Let me know if you think they're worth throwing in, and if so, what to replace.

Since you have so many hybrid B/W creatures you could consider playing a single Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx to ramp with. I would would probably put it in instead of a Temple of Silence. Cool deck!

That's not a bad idea! I could definitely do that. What do you think of the other maybeboard cards?

Just made some BIG changes to the boards! Trying out something really new, so lemme know what you think!
MB:
-1 Deathbringer Liege (thank you ZombieswithJetpacks)
-1 Lingering Souls (usually draw too many; not b/w spell; not instant)
-2 Stillmoon Cavalier (moved to SB; I think more useful than High Priest of Penance)
+4 Esper Charm (feel like an idiot missing this card.. like holy shit! still a b/w spell; instant speed; versatile enchantment removal; discard at instant speed works great with theme; card draw has always been a struggle -- I changed the land base some to account for this and was already using Polluted Delta anyhow for the deck thin)
-2 Godless Shrine (I don't need to shock myself too often with all the hybrid mana)
-1 Swamp (replaced with Urborg, but still crucial to having turn 1 Inquisition of Kozilek)
+1 Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth (replaces swamp; no reason not to have 1)
+1 Watery Grave (fetchable u/b source if I need turn 1 Inquisition and have Esper Charm in hand)
+1 Island (I'll highly likely find some time to fetch for this when say, oh you know I play any red deck that can play.. what's that fucked up card? Oh yeah, Blood Moon! Esper Charm has to have its three basics!)
SB:
Swapped out 2x Dismember for 2x Doom Blade because I was actually running those anyways. If they have black creatures, well then cough Stillmoon Cavalier.
-2 High Priest of Penance (hardly ever found these useful)
+2 Stillmoon Cavalier (makes for a better SB hate card against Junk, Martyr Proc, and other shenanigans)

These are by far my favorite colors, and this deck is like the embodiment of them. Wow. Super awesome deck, and amazingly fun to play, I had to try it at a local tournament, and it actually kicked alot of ass. Deathbringer Liege was an especially popular card, ditto on wanting to upvote more than once.

Thanks so much! I really appreciate that!
Yeah I found that once a Deathbringer Liege can sit on the battlefield, you can almost completely lock them out of the game. It's even crazier if you have two out at once!
Also if these are your favorite colors, you should check out my Orzhov pauper deck which is all commons!:

I think Bitterblossom would fit nicely as a 1 or 2of. Like the deck +1

That's not a bad suggestion! Not sure what I'd have to cut to fit that.. perhaps a Deathbringer Liege, but at that point maybe I'd wanna cut the blue splash, take out Esper Charm, and go up a Lingering Souls too as well as some Zealous Persecution..
March 31, 2017 2:57 p.m.
Deathbringer Liege is a good fit, but maybe just 1of as this is an aggro list. The Esper Charms are great, but strain the manabase too much for just 2 cards.. I dunno man, if you have plans for further blue splash then keep them, but like this it's not as effective as it could be.

Aether Vial. All day. Esper Charm is a very clever card, but making the mana base more efficiant seems like it would offer better card advantage. Windbrisk Heights x2 can work well, too.

HaazdaGerfson says... #24
Thanks for the suggestion! I think that Aether Vial is better suited in decks that have much larger suite of low-costed creatures. There are only 19 in this deck, and I wouldn't even count Deathbringer Liege because of its high cost. Here are some examples of decks that work well with Aether Vial (Merfolk and Death & Taxes):

They have a much higher creature count (29 and 31), and the creatures are evenly spread over the low-end of the curve. So if you're into Aether Vial I'd recommend those two archetypes!
In regards to Esper Charm: In short, I completely agree! I haven't messed with this deck in a while, but I think I would cut Blue and just add more grindy pieces.

Aether Vial set to 2 or 3 ticks is fine for this deck, I think, playing Tidehollow Sculler or Sin Collector on oponents turn is really nice. Athreos, god of the passage seems easier to get online and win with than Liege. His devotion is silly easy to get with this deck, even easier with vial and few more 2 or 3 drop creatures.I would cut a few paths(Giving oponent land when playing a slower deck, eesh) for Fatal Push. Also not really a big fan of Lingering Souls or Bitterblossom in this list as they seem more suited for a midrange tokens deck.
