Nah cuz the Maniac is in there just in case I mill myself. Obviously, I would love to play Jace's third ability and instantly win but with the Crawler, they take that much damage as well. And the Sphinx gives me extra draws; with just one of those, the Rites, and a Crawler, I deal 4 damage to them during just their upkeep. The base hope is to damage them with the Ignus, but if they choose not to play the second land then that's where the Parasite comes in. One thing I'm considering is a Mondronen Shaman, though, for in case they want to play anything with that excess land.

I would advise cutting the commandos and slices for 4x birds of paradise. Great ramp and mana fixing. I would also cut the grimoire, lenses and contagion engine for 4x rampant growth for more ramp, allowing you to play your more powerful spells faster. I really enjoy the Rites + Sphinx and Crawler synergy. You realize the sword is combat damage, so Spikeshot's ability won't trigger it, right?I would cut the elder and the swords for 4x sphere of suns which is again, more ramp to let you play your bigger spells faster. Hope this helps! If you want some advice playing the deck, let me know on tumblr. I'm liketheashesofflags.

I didn't realize that it was only combat damage :c that's saddening. Also, I don't know why everyone's solution to any deck with green in it is ramp; it's not necessary. The birds don't do what the Commandos and the Slices are in there to do, so why would I cut them out? A single Stony Silence or Lux Cannon would fuck this deck up; therefor Slice in Twain. I think I will, however, sub the Slice for a Naturalize for the mana cost. The extra draw isn't necessary. And those swords aren't just for the Elder; they lose life for each card in their hand. Did you forget the Rites of Flourishing? With no max hand size, I gain a bunch of life for the cards in my hand as well. I might sub an elder or something else for some Artful Dodges though, since he can't get around attacking to deal that damage.

I haven't found that it does, but I've only playtested against another deck a few times. I do like dual lands though, so they'll probs find their way into it.

This is a really neat idea. The only problem I see is whenever I play, I know for a fact I try to use as little lands as possible and rely on rampers. Especially when I'm playing some green and anytime I play black. This deck allows your opponent to play another land, but nothing forces them. What happens in the end is they draw a lot of things and get a lot of fogs/kill spells/ what they need to set their deck in motion. One thing you could do (and what someone has already done effectively banning Laboratory Maniac) is try to mill yourself to death. Maybe a deck you could make instead is a blue/green mana ramp deck that allows you to play most of your deck with Genesis Wave and other things that let you draw.
