A 4 color Demonic Pact deck that features Bring to Light as a tutor for answers to the opposing board or our own pact. All of this is enabled by the insane mana that is available in standard right now. So if you like to do some sweet durdly stuff and think that getting the best creatures in standard with Bring to light is boring, then this deck might be just for you!

The deck is also quite cheep to build if you have the mana base for it, and a lot of the random expensive one-of creatures can be replaced with other stuff. Also, Jace, Vryn's Prodigy   would probably be great in this deck, but I'm not willing to spend that much money on standard.

The Core Show

4x Demonic Pact - This card is super sweet, a lot of card advantage for just 4 mana. However, losing the game is bad and the answers available in standard are quite limited. Disperse is a bad card on it's own, Sultai Charm is ok but we'd prefer to bounce and Utter End is even worse in this regard. Silumgar's Command and Ugin, the Spirit Dragon are the best answers, but they cost a ton of mana so we can't play too many. The solution I came up with is...

4x Bring to Light! - Can tutor for the best possoble answer to our pact at any given time, a board whipe, threat or spot removal. Bring to light gives 4 additional copies of each card in our deck, especially when coupled with Dark Petition.

4x Rattleclaw Mystic - A pretty bad card, but our cards are expensive and we need the fixing.

Answers to Pact Show

We have a lot different answers, since they all excel in different things.

Sultai Charm

Pros:

• kills most things dead

Cons:

• kills our pact dead

Utter End

Pros:

• kills anything real dead

Cons:

• kills our pact real dead

Ugin, the Spirit Dragon

Pros:

• Wins the game
• kills everything real dead

Cons:

• costs 8 mana.

Felidar Cub

Pros:

• sweet synergy with Liliana
• blocks vs aggro

Cons:

• it's a bear in a control deck, which is not generally great

Silumgar's Command

Pros:

• Bounces pact and kills/counters something else = INSANE VALUE

Cons:

• costs 5 mana.

Control cards Show

Most of our answers to pact can be used as simple removal spells, but since they usually are somewhat tricky in some way, we have some good old, straightforward kill spells and wraths too.

Languish - Great vs most decks, kills almost everything

Crux of Fate - Takes care of everything Languish doesn't

Tragic Arrogance - Extremely efficient vs Hangarback Walker, since it's an artifact and a creature and we can choose it twice. Also lets us maybe destroy a pact.

Profaner of the Dead - A weird one, but it does get rid of hangarback walker quite nicely. Also aristocrat style decks are very popular where I live and this sets them back by a lot.

Fleshbag Marauder - Kills a random Dragonlord Ojutai or Silumgar, the Drifting Death + works great with Liliana.

Murderous Cut - Not having a delve spell would be bad and we can use some cheep interaction.

Dispel - Seems weird, but counters Dromoka's Command, which is great vs pact and also lets us resolve our own answers to pact more safely. Also countering random Dig Through Times is not bad

Abzan Charm - Draws cards or exiles a big thing. Great utility.

Utility and Value Show

The cards that don't exactly fall under any of the earlier categories, but our either vital or sweet or both.

Nissa, Vastwood Seer   - We want to hit land drops, and Nissa helps with that a little bit. Also the planeswalker is great if we ever get there.

Liliana, Heretical Healer   - A sweet one, lets us reuse our Felidar Cub, Fleshbag Marauder and Profaner of the Dead. Also keeps our opponent down on cards, making resolving our answers to pacts easier vs control and is a lifelink blocker vs aggro.

Dragonlord Ojutai - Ends the game quickly and has built in protection. The best overall creature we can get with Bring to Light.

Auramancer - Not sure if this is good enough, but getting back pacts seems like fun.

Clever Impersonator - With Bring to light, we have 5 cards in the deck that give the option to copy any nonland permanent on the battlefield. Seems like this can enable some sweet plays.

Sideboard Show

The sideboard is built with the local meta in mind. Around a fifth of the decks here are aristocrats, so I've devoted a lot of slots for that match up. In addition, there are always a couple of control decks, a couple of red aggro decks and a few ramp decks. With that in mind:

Anafenza, the Foremost - Comes in vs Aristocrats and perhaps with need threats vs a really slow control deck.

Infinite Obliteration - Not sure about this one, in theory comes in vs UB aristocrats and 4c rally, since they are super reliant on Nantuko Husk.

Disdainful Stroke - Vs ramp and control

Surge of Righteousness - Vs red aggro and aristocrats.

Duress - Vs control

Arashin Cleric - Vs aggro

Silumgar, the Drifting Death - A nice way to lock out token based decks completely, also a brick wall vs control. Kills very quickly with Ojutai.

Results Show

I've taken this to one FNM so far. I went 2-2 with a slightly different build. It felt as if though it could have been a 3-1 with slightly better draws and better play from myself. Each match was a blast to play and the games where long and close. I never went 0-2 in a single match and almost every game was winnable. Overall, with a few improvement I feel this deck can preform quite nicely at FNM level tournaments.
