Also, you have too much artifact removal. When 6/7 cards in your starting hand have "destroy target artifact"... Yeah. You probably want a couple more lands and maybe just subsitute a couple of them for Isochron Scepter . Aand Echoing Ruin .

You def need more lands, at least 22. Also, I like the idea of making yourself destroy artifacts by making them one lol, but it is overkill. You only have four Liquimetal Coating so there will be games where you don't get them. Try something else that will contribute to either contribute to making your creatures more effective, burn, or more creatures that are amazing, not just artifact haters.

As a matter of fact, in playing this deck I've found that 22 lands is too many, and that I often run out of artifact removal. The generally low cost of spells in this deck let it survive, and thrive, on fewer lands. This is why there are only 20 lands, which you could say were replaced by Reforge the Soul , which I've found to be very useful for refilling my hand with ammunition. weedragonaut is right about Liquimetal Coating not always showing up in the opening hand, but it or search/draw cards do often show up. I'll admit, it's not 100% reliable, but it does work rather well. Perhaps I should add Mycosynth Lattice to improve my chances? One last point: Splinter would indeed be fantastic, but Echoing Ruin much less so. It's all in the wording.

Might I suggest Vandalblast for versatile artifact removal?

I like the idea here. You'll want to get those Liquimetal Coating out quickly though, is Ancient Stirrings enough?
Hoarding Dragon might be able to help you out. Maybe. It's a stretch though.
Myr Landshaper in this deck seems like a limited additional Liquimetal Coating. Also, Splinter and Echoing Ruin can be amazing for land destruction, it depends on your matchup.
Mycosynth Lattice vastly increases the power of Ancient Stirrings . If you do add one, consider also one or two Shattering Spree so you can really let loose.
Ingot Chewer has potential versatility here.

I agree with hazyhomunculus, specifically in point about Mycosynth Lattice and Shattering Spree . This is a cool deck idea. Try those on for size, and a +1 from me for creativity! :)

My apologies, I even read this above and still didn't notice, but Echoing Ruin = not so great (without Mycosynth Lattice ).

Nice deck! +1!
I've been looking at this sort of deck since Scars came out, I've decided on using Mycosynth Lattice as the main plan instead of Liquimetal Coating . My deck deck:elves-of-the-mycosynth-glissas-chosen ramps to 6, and then Vandalblast s. I'd appreciate if you looked at it to see how we can optimize this, maybe combining the two strategies somehow.

TrumpetsforKings - Viashino Heretic is amazing but it isn't modern-legal.
I'll second going with the more powerful Oxidize and Tel-Jilad Justice instead of your more versatile disenchants, and only sub them in from the side when necessary.
Smash to Smithereens seems especially ideal here.

You make an excellent point about the disenchants. I think I'll try moving them into a side deck, and let Smash to Smithereens take their place. The extra damage ought to help move things along considerably.

From experiance, this deck is brutal to play against. More often than not a second turn coating seals the deal. its hard to beat a deck if you're never allowed to get above 2, at most 3 mana. its not 100% reliable, no, but it is reliable enough that it makes me hate playing it. Even a solid agro deck can struggle against it. i dread the day he gets his hands on a mychosynth lattice.

@sample101. yes. i would hate someone forever for that. it's bad enough when i get Armageddon ed, or Jokulhaups ed
To lose my whole library would be INFURIATING!

Vandalblast is only useful when Mycosynth Lattice is in play. Having artifact spot removal that also takes care of enchantments like Oblivion Ring and/or does damage to your opponent is more useful in general.

Creeping Corrosion , potentially? It could save a game that's going down the tubes by board wiping and starting over
November 3, 2013 9:48 a.m.
Creeping Corrosion is of limited use for the same reason as Vandalblast . Most of the time I'm turning only one of my opponents permanents into an artifact at a time with Liquimetal Coating . Board wipe isn't very useful for this deck.

Creeping Corrosion with Mycosynth Lattice makes me sad.

Vandalblast is the better card in that situation, certainly.

I suggest:
- Splinter - the more dangerous against combo deck (don't let it in sideboard)- Shattering Spree - the faster, with the Mycosynt is the bestIf you want more land denial:- Myr Retriever - convert lands, it's an alternative to Liquimetal- Vithian Renegades - +1 powerNovember 5, 2013 11:21 a.m.
Ops, I want to write Myr Landshaper , not Myr Retriever! Sorry
November 5, 2013 11:22 a.m.
Vithian Renegades
would make an excellent addition, thanks!
Shattering Spree
is good, but it's not as generally useful as the instant speed artifact removal I have in deck already.
Splinter
is most useful for taking out my opponent's lands, and I usually only target the lands when I'm up against a control deck.
Myr Landshaper
is good, but there's no more room!

Try Splinter (If you want people to hate you forever).
