ONCE UPON A TIME,

Bruna, Light of Alabaster wanted a new dress. Arriving at the dress shop, she realized that she had no earthly money since she is a creature from the celestial plane. Refusing to leave empty handed, she devised a plan to obtain all the pretty dresses. She grabbed all the dresses in the store, put them all on in the dressing room and made a mad dash for the exit. Thankfully, one of the dresses made her invisible and she got to keep them all at a great discount price.

Why This Decklist:

My friends and I are having a $30 EDH decklist challenge. The total of cards in your deck must be under $30 on tcgplayer's average pricing (including general cost and not including the cost of basic lands.) I used the MTG Familiar App to find the lowest average price for each card, the prices change according to printing. Some sets are not available for pricing on this site however. As of when I compiled this list, the average price of the deck came to $29.95 according to the aforementioned guidelines.

General Strategies:

Get Bruna, Light of Alabaster out and attack/block with her. With Bruna, Light of Alabaster + Sovereigns of Lost Alara in play, if you attack with her alone, you should win. Same goes for the Bruna, Light of Alabaster + Mirror-Mad Phantasm wombo-combo. The deck wins almost every time I Bruna, Light of Alabaster + Scout's Warning to block an attack.

This combo has helped me win games multiple times against sacrifice (Grave Pact) heavy decks : Boonweaver Giant/Iridescent Drake + Abduction/False Demise/Fool's Demise/Gift of Immortality Sacrifice the creature and fetch the enchantment again from the grave instantly placing it on them.

In most cases, you want to Voltron up whoever you can get to stay in play. Bruna will fetch out the auras after they die anyway.

Other discard cards to help Compulsive Research/Flux/Forbid/Read the Runes/Sphinx of Lost Truths/Thassa's Devourer for epic aura spam into graveyard. Boonweaver Giant/Crystal Chimes/Iridescent Drake/Silent Sentinel also do a decent job of grabbing whats in the yard.

Put flicker/return-to-battlefield effects on ETB/tutor creatures to thin deck Abduction/False Demise/Flickerform/Fool's Demise/Gift of Immortality/Vanishing + Auratouched Mage/Boonweaver Giant/Heliod's Pilgrim/Pilgrim's Eye/Totem-Guide Hartebeest

Use as many basic land fetches as possible for more thinning effects Armillary Sphere/Bant Panorama/Burnished Hart/Esper Panorama/Evolving Wilds/Pilgrim's Eye/Terminal Moraine/Traveler's Amulet/Wayfarer's Bauble

(Burnished Hart/Pilgrim's Eye + Gift of Immortality = LOL)

Use removal/steal aura's Abduction/Corrupted Conscience/False Demise/Fool's Demise/Journey to Nowhere/Oblivion Ring to protect yourself/gain board advantage.

Protect yourself before you wreck yourself Crawlspace/Ivory Mask/Prahv, Spires of Order/Silent Arbiter/Vow of Duty/Vow of Flight/Witchbane Orb and the almighty Sphere of Safety For those pesky generals who just won't go away, Faith's Fetters let's them sit there all day. and who doesn't love turning gods into pigs with Curse of the Swine
