Introduction

My first attempt at a Competitive EDH Bruna Voltron deck with stax-ish cards.

Was inspired by this decklist. Over time, I will return to this list to edit the formatting and language of the description box, and add/remove cards that need changing.

How To Play The Deck

The Stax meta with Bruna made sense to me so I wanted to tweak the list with cards to my liking.

The strategy is simple:

Since W/U can sometimes take a while to come online, we're gonna want to choke our opponents out of the game while we dig for Counterspells and Auras. Once your hand is nice and fat, and your opponents can't do anything about your board state, you cast Bruna then start swinging. You'll want to save your counterspells to protect Bruna when she hits the field and stop any opponent from winning the game.

My List is YOUR Map!

I really wanted to organize the cards into categories that will help the player see the decklist as a "map" that you can use in-game. In my custom categories, there are cards that overlap and fit into multiple catergories. You might see a single card in more than one category. This is to help you see where everything goes.

Unique Search Options

Other than the obvious Fabricate, Mystical Tutor, and Enlightened Tutor, we have two more handy ways to search our library for precisely what we need when we need it. There are two Transmute cards in the deck.

1. Tolaria West will fetch for any card with CMC Zero
2. Muddle the Mixture will fetch for anything with CMC 2

As you can see, I have conveniently organized the Transmute cards into two columns above to give you an idea of what you could search for. I hope this will help you maximize the efficiency of your game.

Aura Selection

Some people will disagree with the low number of Auras I have kept for this list. That's fine, but I think I've covered all the basis for when Bruna hits the field. And that's all I really care about. If you're playing the deck correctly, your first swing should give her:

• Shroud
• Indestructible
• Double Strike
• Trample
• Infect
• Lifelink and Unblockable
• Protection from All Colors
• Annihilator 2
• Immortal

....and that's just before calculating how much +X/+X she gets off of cards like Sage's Reverie and Righteous Authority. Not to mention we already know right off the bat she's going to be AT LEAST a 15/15 beater from Eldrazi Conscription alone!
