This deck looks bonkers. I love it. I've always enjoyed Angels, Auras, and U/W Decks that aren't just I'm gonna counter literally everything the entire game.
+1, good sir.

Need more enchantments. Good card draw but you should quite honestly have 20-25 aura cards in a deck built around Bruna.
May 26, 2015 6:32 p.m.
The deck is built to tutor the enchantments. Self-mill and other high aura count builds have too little control and are prone to getting Bruna removed off of the board. You need to be able to defend Bruna in a competitive meta. You don't need a lot of enchantments to win with Bruna; you need the right ones. The rest of the deck can then be devoted to control/engine smoothing.

I run a lot of tutoring as well, instead of self-mill (well, I have a couple mill cards but like 20 tutors), but Bruna's strength is killing the turn she comes out - not filling your deck with counterspells.
What's your winrate with this deck? I'm 15-1 with mine and I run zero counterspells just a ton of haste engines and like 3x as many enchantments as you. My meta is full of insane decks.. none cheaper than $200 and all run tons of spot/mass removal.
May 27, 2015 1:21 a.m.
You seem to be thinking that my Bruna deck doesn't kill a player on the turn it comes out :p The deck has to both kill the most threatening player (other than me) while having counterspells to deal with combos from Arcum Daggson, Momir Vig, etc. This is accomplished by resolving Bruna with LD.
20-25 auras is too many in my experience. It leaves me too open to losing after the first player is knocked out.
I've won exactly half of the Multiplayer Commander tournaments that I've gone to (3/6). The meta is highly competitive and combo-oriented. Decks include the previous two mentioned in addition to multiple Azami lists, Prossh + Food Chain combo, Grand Arbiter Control and Kaalia lists. In 1v1 with the Wizards ban list, this deck has a much higher winrate than that; its reputation for brutality precedes that. A win is a win whether Bruna swings for a one-shot or whether Bruna swings three times with Spectra Ward in 1v1; but it should come as no surprise that I try and expedite 1-shot setups in multiplayer.
We have two different philosophies about Bruna. Both have served us well. Seems like Bruna is a good commander, eh?
tl;dr someone has to play the police deck at my meta; and it turns out that I am the police deck to stop Turn 4 combos. Doing so involves me sacrificing some auras like Auramancer's Guise among others for more control.
May 27, 2015 3:31 a.m.
I guess we do just have two different philosophies. The thing about the way I set up my deck is Bruna is generally completely unremovable from any angle once she comes out due to the mass enchantment spam.
I do run a fair amount of control in my deck but it's more aggro control like Silent Arbiter, Propaganda, and Sphere of Safety and board wipes (Worldslayer, Winds of Rath, etc).
The other thing I suggest is considering adding in some hexproofing or shroud. I see you have vanishing/spectra/greaves which is nice but not enough. Bruna's greatest weakness is no built-in protection whatsoever like Uril, the Miststalker and your deck is really light on it.

What do you think about Aura Finesse? I can see a case for it if you have a controlling aura on Bruna and an opponent has a problematic creature (say, Gisela, Blade of Goldnight). It's niche, but it can help out in a rough spot.
September 30, 2015 2:09 p.m.
Thanks for the suggestion!
I think that Aura Finesse is simply too niche. In the situation that you described, I'd often rather remove the problematic creature entirely rather than try to flip the situation. Too much can go wrong (i.e. they pop the MC effect among other things). With that in mind, I'd rather have a piece of removal in the card slot. The two Mind Control pieces in the deck already are enough if I want to try for that; but Aura Finesse is just a "nifty" trick with those cards. I don't find it useful enough to warrant a card slot.

Thanks for the reply. I'm reworking my own Bruna deck (albeit more budgeted), and I keep seeing it suggested. That's a good way to approach it!

deck looks sick! do you post your deck changes at all? im wondering what the MLD spells you took out were =P Iplay avacyn normally as a volition commander and I've been looking for a similar option for another deck =P
+1 from me!

Hiya!
I do not post my deck changes since I find that somewhat onerous; but I removed Sunder and Catastrophe as well as my resource denial piece of Winter Orb :p
Catastrophe is White and would work well in an Avacyn Voltron shell. Moreover, it's modal; you can either destroy creatures OR lands for six mana. It's a good card. It just wasn't necessary in this deck.

also when bruna attacks, you can put enchantment auras not the battle field without paying their cost?
December 2, 2015 9:53 p.m.
That is the main appeal of Bruna, yes. You can pull any number of auras from your hand or graveyard and move any number of auras already on the battlefield onto her if her attack trigger resolves.

Really nice deck +1
Here some thoughts for you:
cut Dismantling Blow add Disenchant no draw but much more cheaper
cut Fate Forgotten you already have many artifact and enchantmen removals wy not put more ramp to cast out Bruna more faster Mox Diamond, Lotus Petal or try to play with Jace, the Mind Sculptor cuz he is awesome in any blue deck
cut Negate there is much more better spells Pact of Negation (can be tutored with Tolaria West), Foil, Mana Leak, Spell Pierce, Muddle the Mixture (can tutor any boots, some of your mana rocks + Merchant Scroll :-P)
cut Recurring Insight add Mystic Confluence this one more cheaper, instant speed plus much more versatile
December 15, 2015 10:40 p.m. Edited.
You need more speed so i would cut this lands
Celestial Colonnade tapped
Temple of Enlightenment tapped
Seachrome Coast cuz its almoust always will be enter battlefied tapped
Just put more basic lands to be sure that Prairie Stream will enter not tapped
December 15, 2015 10:41 p.m.
cut Terminus put Ravages of War for more land destruction (as I can see money not a problem)
cut Coalition Relic add Talisman of Progress cuz it is just faster
cut Detention Sphere add Grasp of Fate it is much better in multiplayer
December 15, 2015 10:43 p.m.
Time to address all of this! :p
I'm dropping Fate Forgotten and Dismantling Blow and putting in Grasp of Fate once that gets altered into a force choke (this is happening) and Mox Diamond. On that note, Detention Sphere has applications in nuking multiple copies of Sol Ring or a set of token; it's my O-Ring variant of choice in most cases.
I like Negate because it hits close to everything that I want. I detest Pact of Negation though it is tutorable with Tolaria West. I am definitely looking for a foil copy of Muddle the Mixture so stay tuned.
For speed: I'm keeping Temple of Enlightenment since I just really like Scry Lands but I intend to cut Celestial Colonnade and Seachrome Coast once I get a foil Unhinged Plains and Island.
I disagree with the Talisman of Progress assessment because Coalition Relic puts a four-land Bruna within my ambit.
I actually cut some of the LD in my deck. I used to have Sunder where Terminus is. I found that LD got clogged in my hands a lot. Maybe three pieces is the magic number of LD to have in the deck, so I would like a Ravages of War at some point. I tend to get one of the two pieces already in the deck naturally.
Jace, the Mind Sculptor is fine in EDH; but I don't have a good spot to fit him in here.
Recurring Insight usually wins my multiplayer games. I am not disagreeing that Mystic Confluence is a great card, however.

Did you change name? Hard to summon Bruna, Light of Alabaster, but if you can attack with it you practiclly win.

Playtested and was attacking with a 17/17 with double strike, flying, vigilance, shroud, haste, annihilator 2, and protection from all colors turn 4!!! Basically, the opponent lost.
December 17, 2015 6:27 p.m.
Hehe. I change the name on occasion. The deck tries to ramp as it can in order to get her out as fast as possible. Not uncommon to see turn 3 or turn 4 swings.
Other than that it's a potent control shell. Hope you liked it :)

congrats on 50 upvotes!! This is a really cool deck that definitely deserves it. On a side note, how do you put alters in instead of the original card?
December 30, 2015 11:05 p.m.
Hiya!
This is the guide on how to upload your alters
It basically involves adding a scan/photo of your alter onto Tappedout's database. Just hit the folder icon and click Alters. After uploading it from there, the result will be a code that you can add next to the input card name on the deck's edit page.
For instance, uploading my Bruna alter would be: Bruna, Light of Alabaster A=3481
It's all on the web page :)
