I played my version of the deck tonight and made some changes overall. For starters with 20 land i only had 3 land by turn 3 about 40% of the time (it was usually t4 or t5 that i got my 3rd land). swapped out Gods Willing for Oppressive Rays because aggro and ramp is the only thing i see in my area and the deck was slow. I replaced 2 creatures with Eternal Thirst to have a cheaper enchant for early game that also combo's with Agent of the Fates really well. I am considering main-boarding Banishing Light . I hope my review helps a bit.

I have mixed feelings about Eidolon of Countless Battles . In my experience he is either really really good or kind of useless. If I have enough things on the board for him to be really good, then I am probably winning the game anyways. Still, sometimes he ends up being that big game changer when you attach him to a master of feasts or herald of torment and swing for huge damage. Can't make up my mind about him.
I like the idea of putting in a couple Fabled Hero . If you can bestow herald of torment on him the turn after you play him, you can swing for 12 damage with flying! Maybe something to sideboard for agent of the fates for more heavy damage potential when you don't need to be able to sac creatures (against token or control decks).

Im looking to run this deck here pretty soon. Can you tell me where id put athreos/ thoughtseizes, IF i were to include them? thanks!

@trenton24: I don't really think Atheros is needed, but if you really want to add him, I'd remove Ajani's Presence for them. Next, Thoughtseize also isn't really necessary, but it depends on your meta. If you are sure that you want them, remove some copies of Gods Willing .

So let's say I have a bigger budget and I could put in 3-4 Thoughtseizes in this deck. How would you fit it in and what other more expensive parts would you add in? Also, I think Soldier of the Pantheon would be good as a 3-4 of as KtK is going to be multi-color heavy

Thanks for this. I wanted to make a less expensive version in MTGO. I chose to go less aggro and more Lifelink and removal: Minus the -4 Master demons, -3 Spiteful, -1 Whip, -1 Shieldmate. Replaced with +4 Hopeful Eidolon , +2 Fabled Hero , +2 Favored Hoplite , +2 Silence the Believers , +1 Devouring Light , +4 Sign in Blood , +2 lands. Total 66 cards; while I'm trying this mix out.

Doom Blade in sideboard: own just 1 Hero's Downfall. Whip of Erebos leaving deck for sideboard because my version does not have 5/5 demons to swing with out of the grave, and I have x4 Hopeful Eidolon for Lifelink. In about 20 games I've not once used Whip to bring back Agent of the Fates (or anything else useful), but then I was only running 1 Whip. I like Eidolon of Countless Battles but he could be a three-of.

Have you considered Sorin, Solemn Visitor or is he out of your price range?

Budget: an estimate of income and expenditure for a set period of time
It really depends on who's budget it is you are talking about. I'm pretty sure that would be within Warren Buffet's budget.

benwah3000 I do see your point but the average person who doesn't feel like spending $20 on a single card like Sorin, Solemn Visitor is what we are going with right now. It would seem like a fairly nice addition to add but he/she is showing us here a $50 budget deck that can play competitively in standard. Now if your budget is bigger than this $50 limit by all means continue to improve upon the deck as much as you like as I'm sure Scorprix would LOVE to see his/her deck idea being played around with and made stronger and more powerful and also given tips on improving it in a more expensive version.

Heliod's Pilgrim why wouldn't you use that to search for a bestow card? im not sure if you can or not but it seems to me that you would be able to it would be like the enchantment creatures and the gods the classification is both on them why not the bestow aura

@nightfire1177: Unfortunately bestow cards are not auras... :P

I feel like i might aswell ask this. I have 2 Sorin, Solemn Visitor laying about, and i feel like they might make a fit into the deck. What would you suggest removing, in order to fit them in?

also, thanks for putting this together, i was conflicted for a while trying to decide what to do post rotation (money is tight and wanted to get the most longevity out of a deck) and this really works.
