So we've all seen goblin decks before. You get out twenty goblins at once with a Coat of Arms on the field and then attack with everything. Well here's my slightly different take on the goblin deck.
The main idea of this deck is deal damage that is difficult for the opponent to avoid or prevent.
Magmatic Chasm
and Foul-Tongue Shriek are perfect examples. With magmatic chasm we get past most of the opponent's blockers and with foul-tongue shriek we can do direct lose of life without worrying about any possible Fogs or
Safe Passage
s. Additionally, we can use
Goblin Heelcutter
and Frenzied Goblin to stop any flying blockers that we missed by magmatic chasm.
One of the most useful creatures of the deck is
Brutal Hordechief
. He has his own built in foul-tongue shriek effect and his activated ability allows you to force your opponent to use all of their blockers on a single goblin while the rest of your attacks go straight through.
Meanwhile, we can sacrifice some goblin tokens in order to have some cheap removal through Bone Splinters,
Reckless Abandon
, and Goblin Bombardment.
And we can get some of those tokens back my using the effect of Alesha, Who Smiles at Death to bring back cards like
Kathari Bomber
and Beetleback Chief.
Now for the odds and ends. Ogre Battlemaster is there to turn all of the newly created tokens from Krenko, Mob Boss into 3/1 haste beatsticks each turn. And
Necrobite
is there to keep things like Alesha alive. Hell's Thunder is in because it is a possible 4 damage on turn 3 and it can be unearthed from the grave for a surprise later in the game.
Suggestions are encouraged and appreciated. I am slightly worried that I added in a few too many non-goblin creatures and that it might mess with Krenko. But I feel that the non-goblin creatures all do a good job with difficult to prevent damage or token generation. I also understand that the non-basic lands are a little weird. I don't have a lot more money that I can use on this deck and I would rather not spend all of it on 3 or 4 lands so that's why the land is a little strange.
Anyway, I look forward to your suggestions and an upvote would always be nice. Thanks!
