Lead the Stampede seems like it would be nice to follow up a Damnation with. I'd probably run it over Doubling Chant simply for the cost.

25+1s and quite a few good suggestions in the first couple days. Thank you guys.

could use some lands you always want to hit at least 4 mana

I have been playing against your deck for a while. It seems to have a weakness to planeswalkers and token generators.
My Elspeth, Sun's Champion singlehandly won.

I am going to update this decklist when work is less crazy.

Ok I have finally made some revisions based on some peoples obversations and my play testing of the deck several times. I have decided to add in Pack Rat for the slight extra speed. I have decided to add in Maelstrom Pulse . I noticed the suggestion for Abrupt Decay and Hero's Downfall . I feel like Maelstrom Pulse would be a better card since it does essentially the exact same thing as both of the other cards except that it can wipe the field of what I am destroying. I have taken out 2 Forest s for 2 more Swarmyard s. The extra green mana was not being put to the best use so I thought that functionally this land setup would work better.
I liked the idea of Concordant Crossroads but this deck is supposed to use modern legal cards and that card would be pretty expensive.
I also thought that Lead the Stampede was pretty cool but I threw in Doubling Chant as a game ender and I think it does a better job at that despite the high mana cost.

Since you are able to put out a ton of rats, I would recommend Triumph of the Hordes So you will be able to overwhelm any defending creature with trample and most likely kill the player with infects.

I would definitely get some dredge in here. It would be much more potent. I'd suggest Life from the Loam .

Jp3ngu1nb0y I am not saying its a bad idea to put dredge in there but could you explain your thought process for me please?

Dropping a Bloodbond March with 10+ rats in the yard would be crazy. A few Eternal Witness just incase you lose them and bam.

I like that. I will have to give it some thought as to what I would take out to accommodate that.

-2 Elixir of Immortality
-3 Pack Rat
-1 Damnation
-1 Maelstrom Pulse
+3 Life from the Loam
+2 Thoughtseize
+2 Stinkweed Imp
How I'd start, anyway.

I like what Pack Rat is doing and Elixir of Immortality is my response to my metas mill decks. I could move elixir to the side deck though.

Some Draw would be good, possibly Underworld Connections ,, there's probably better draw than that, possibly Graveborn Muse . I think Liliana of the Dark Realms seems good where she thins your deck every turn while providing a stream of mana. Whip of Erebos has inevitability, ensuring your rats go the distance,, making combat ridiculous. I really like Pack Rat in this deck.... converting useless lands into rats.

Liliana of the Dark Realms was not something i thought of initially. It would combo nice with Pack Rat though.
December 23, 2013 3:44 p.m.
What about Mutavault so you can tap it to pump your pack rats when you swing out?
December 24, 2013 10:54 p.m.
I like the thought of the Mutavault but rather then focusing on the Pack Rat I am thinking of going in a more ramp direction.
