I'd rather have Mogis, God of Slaughter rather than Whip of Erebos , I don't really see the use in lifelink if you're not wasting your life points on loads of Thoughtseize s.

Also, you can replace Rakdos Guildgate with a couple of Temple of Malice . You should run 3 Rageblood Shaman instead of 4 and 3 Kragma Warcaller Instead of 2, and take out 1 Ragemonger and add Flurry of Horns .

@TheAmazingSalsa I've been experimenting with Whip of Erebos (used to be Obelisk of Urd ) and I agree with you that it doesn't really help much. Unfortunately, Mogis, God of Slaughter is out of my budget so with that, Rakdos Guildgate is also irreplaceable at the moment.

I'll try the -1 Rageblood Shaman and +1 Kragma Warcaller but I can't remove a Ragemonger just because the decks I've been up against all have good removal and I really need all the Ragemongers I can get since it's always a target.

Flurry of Horns seems cool. I'll playtest it. Thank you very much for the suggestions!

Sideboard lightning volley :D?

@luvcheese I'm not sure about Lightning Volley . I usually don't get to flood the board with more than 3 minotaurs so the potential 3 damage isn't really worth it. I already have Lightning Strike and Searing Blood for that. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Deathbellow Raider

Get it. Use it. Replace the Felhide Brawler .

And I know it's a decent card but I just have serious problems with Minotaur Skullcleaver . He's got a shock factor. That's IT!. Then you're stuck with a three drop 2/2. He then becomes your least effective minotaur on the battlefield. And yes, I'm placing him below Gnarled Scarhide due to a turn 1 and turn 3 difference.

I run Kragma Butcher in my deck. Not a superb card but in a deck where you're always swinging he has his moments. He's also an excellent sideboard spot. He is basically one of the least effective Minotaurs in my deck personally. So you can bring in those essential spells to change the matchup.

But definitely grab Deathbellow Raider

Otherwise this is one of the better budget Minotaur decks I've seen. I'm surprised it's budget honestly, even if the Minotaur deck isn't more than $75 avg in value.

@TMBRLZ I've actually just did the Deathbellow Raider - Felhide Brawler swap just a few days ago. Sadly, I've only tested it for about 3 games so I didn't have the confidence yet to officially update the deck here. Nevertheless, I agree with you that it seems to be the better minotaur overall.

The Minotaur Skullcleaver - Kragma Butcher thing is really about how aggro you would want to be. Whenever I play the Skullcleaver, I imagine it was a Butcher instead and most of the time the former is better than the latter. I believe it really depends on what deck styles are popular on your local scene is. Another huge factor is how your noncreature spells interact with the board. With the instants I have, clearing the board is very easy and thus, the haste +2 attack is always a better turn 3 for me. After that, a 2/2 for 3 isn't that bad really to be perfectly honest - considering how impactful your turn 4 can be with this deck (and other minotaur decks for that matter).

Still, I will always consider Butcher to be a very good alternative. Thank you very much for the comment and for the ideas!

Nice build, I have a similar Minotaur Madness, only I chose to include more creature removal like Doom Blade and Terminate .

@RosalieW Thank you for the suggestions but like I mentioned, this deck is for standard post-RTR block. Having more removal and anti-control is also great but cards like Hero's Downfall and Thoughtseize are over my budget.

Nice deck! I would think about removing a Ragemonger though, 4 is a bit much.

I've playtested it and the extra mana is too slow for the deck IMO.
