Ajani's Pridemate is the heart of the deck, if everything works well, he can get really big !
Here are what could make him ''evolve'':
Soulmender +1/+1 on the Pridemate for every tap.
Nyx-Fleece Ram +1/+1 on the Pridemate every turn.
Sunbond and
Ordeal of Heliod
can make the Ajani's Pridemate get at least +13/+13 in three turns !
Heliod's Pilgrim is here to find the right auras at the right time !
With all this stuff, your Pridemate should be big enough !
But we also need some (a lot of) protection !
Ajani's Presence
will probably save your Pridemate and help him become big !
Gods Willing : Protection, unstoppable, scry, what else ?
Feat of Resistance
: Protection, more counters, unstoppable, again, what else ?
Spectra Ward makes the Pridemate stronger, quite indestructible and also unstoppable !
What if the combo doesn't take place ?
Fabled Hero
: Same story, protect him to make him big and unstoppable !
And how does that work in game ?
Turn 1: Land and Soulmender
Turn 2: Land and Ajani's Pridemate (You can also play it on turn 3 so that you have one land free to protect him). Just before turn 3, tap Soulmender, you gain 1 life and Ajani's Pridemate gets +1/+1, becoming 3/3.
Turn 3: Cast
Ordeal of Heliod
on the Pridemate, attack, getting another counter, he's 4/4.
Turn 4: Cast Sunbond on the Pridemate, attack, he gets his 3rd counter, sacrifice
Ordeal of Heliod
, he gets 10 +1/+1 counters, dealing 14 damage !
Turn 5: Cast Gods Willing or Spectra Ward making him unblockable, attack again and win. ;)
Same story with
Fabled Hero
, he'll just make more damage with his Double Strike !
