Sideboard

While the bigger, flashier cards in Mono-Green Devotion decks might be on the expensive side, we took a look at some lists and realized that a lot of the bread-and-butter cards really aren't that crippling. And there's where the idea for this deck came from.

The strategy is the same as bigger, more expensive green decks. Start with mana acceleration like Elvish Mystic and Voyaging Satyr. Burning-Tree Emissary can come down as a valuable two-drop, allowing us to rush out more creatures and inflate our devotion count. Even on turn 3, a Reverent Hunter can hit the table as big as 7/7 if you curve out just right.

Unfortunately, Arbor Colossus and the aforementioned Hunter are the only rares in G Devotion that we can truly call "budget". The main problem is the lack of planeswalkers to generate card advantage and give us a bit of fighting-based spot removal. That's where our spell base comes in. Warriors' Lesson lets us draw off of attacks--which is something we intend to do a lot of. It plays nice with trample, and without Nylea in our price range, we had to go to some off-the-beaten-path tech to get trample into the deck. Korozda Monitor is a solid body, has trample, and even lets us recycle it when it dies with its Scavenge ability. And Nylea's Emissary lets us give anything trample--including a particularly large Reverent Hunter or Arbor Colossus. We also have some Pit Fights because the spot removal that it can provide at instant speed is pretty powerful. There's a pair of Bow of Nylea here because there's almost always something you can use it for, even if you just wind up pumping up one of your trampling guys every turn.

We have some suggestions for sideboard here, but keep in mind that the specifics of what you want are going to depend on your local metagame.
