[2020 update]
I constructed this deck many years ago, I am, and was, no expert in the modern format. The deck is very dated but I will leave it up as it gained at least some traction.
If you replace the wild growth it will be modern legal. But if you are playing modern, it is best not to play this outdated deck.
[Original description]
This deck is based around overwhelming your opponent with damage. The damage output of this deck can ramp up extremely fast and the key is to be able to play your own game. Playing your key cards 1 turn later just to be sure you have enough mana for Vines of Vastwood If you would need them is, therefore, a good decision against most decks. Turn 3 wins are always possible. And the versatility and low cost of the key cards allow you to still get ahead even if there is a board wipe.
Wild Beastmaster
Your opponents biggest target, if your opponent is unable to deal with Wild Beastmaster the game will be yours in no time. Wild Beastmaster Should be the focus of your attention as well, keep her alive and buff her up. Vines of Vastwood, Revenge of the Hunted, Greater Savagery, and Wolfir Silverheart Will allow you to turn this 1/1 Human into a Game-winning monster. With the overflow of cheap minions like Strangleroot Geist, the tokens of Fists of the Ironwood or even your untapped Arbor Elf's. This card can give you the power to go toe to toe with the biggest Ramp deck's green has to offer.
Champion of Lambholt
Always there as the right hand of Wild Beastmaster, Their Synergy is enormous as Champion of Lambholt's Ability triggers after Wild Beastmaster's. With cards like Strangleroot Geist and Fists of Ironwood, Champion of Lambholt Doesn’t need buffs to grow to seize, pretty much allowing Champion of Lambholt To benefit from every single card in this deck. Again a card your opponent can’t leave on the board because an army of unblockable saprolings is a lot more than your opponent will be able to handle.
Wolfir Silverheart
This card is your blocker at exactly the right moment, your counter against burn. And your 8/8 when those humans are too shy to peek outside of your deck. This card is a finisher, the +4/+4 will most of the time instantly win you the game if you have a Wild Beastmaster on the field. And if that’s not enough you have an 8/8 to stop the counterattack.
Strangleroot Geist
This card is one of my favourite cards in this deck, not because it is as game-changing as the humans but because it fits right in the spots the deck lacks. For one it is great for early game pressure, having a 2/1 haste attacking your opponent early on is a great distraction. It trades really well with anything your opponent will have on the field due to its undying and may even trick your opponent in overinvesting in its demise allowing you to graceful follow it up with your more important creatures. It is very resilient against burn and is a great blocker if you want to buy time. (With a deck like this, 1 additional block can mean a big difference). The 2/1 lets you make great use of Prey Upon Early in the game, disrupting your enemy and allowing you to grow even stronger. The undying trigger also helps to buff your Champion of Lambholt, It may not seem a lot but those +1/+1 counters will stack up rapidly and it's totally free! Yay for synergy!
Arbor Elf
The last member of my creature pool, Mana dorks are always good, especially if you can turn them into massive amounts of mana gain with Utopia Sprawl. That 4 mana on turn 2 allows you to kick start your army, and set you up for a really fast game. But even without Utopia Sprawl Arbor Elf will give you a great mana advantage. Your 3 costs are your driving power and being able to play them before your opponent has an answer to them is really great. Also allows for a really powerful early game threat that will force your opponent to respond. Yay, we are playing our game now!
Fists of Ironwood
I get asked a lot of questions about this card, mostly because the trample puts a lot of people off. And it's true with Champion of Lambholt and Revenge of the Hunted I don't really need trample. But I do need the tokens, 2 saprolings for 2 mana early on is really good. (Even if you give trample to an arbor elf for it) Allowing me to get more profit from Wild Beastmaster and buffing my Champion of Lambholt for another +2/+2. But that's not where it stops. Fists of Ironwood Even allows me to play my game when I don’t draw the right cards. The trample allows me to dump Greater savagery and Vines of Vastwood on any creature really because they will get through. Wolfir Silverheart Also is a great target for fists of the ironwood due to his high inert power and toughness.
Vines of Vastwood
One of the driving forces behind this deck.
Always there to keep your creatures alive, or to stop your enemy from buffing his own creatures. And works great on Wild Beastmaster or Champion of Lambholt for a massive finish. Since you can unfortunately only have 4 of these bad boys in your deck Ranger's Guile provides a solid alternative. Though less versatile and less powerful, it gives you the protection you need to do what you do best. Completely overrun the enemy. Always keep these ready to stop whatever your opponent wants to throw against your humans.
Prey Upon
In my opinion one of the best removal green has to offer, Of course, you won’t always be in the position to use this card, but with cards like Strangleroot Geist, Wolfir Silverheart and Wild Beastmaster This deck is really good at allowing you to trade really well with this card. The low mana cost and the deck's ability to play it consistently made me prefer this card over Beast Within and Snakeform.
Utopia Sprawl
More Mana, This is not a very expensive deck, but if you want to keep mana open for your instants you will need enough of it. Utopia Sprawl in combination with Arbor Elf Allows me to keep the number of lands in my deck low while keeping the flashback of Greater Savagery Within reach.
Revenge of the Hunted
This card takes a very special spot in the deck, If you have the right cards it's just a +6/+6 for miracle one drop. But if you don’t have, let’s say Champion of Lambholt,Wild Beastmaster or even Wolfir Silverheart It will complete your attack and allow you to finish the game. This deck has enough mana ramp to hard cast it with ease if you start with one of them in your hand.
Don’t let the low cost and the high number of commons in this deck trick you. It rocks!
