I think Abzan Charm is much much more useful to me. it provides control, possible card draw and some counters. Abzan Ascendancy is mostly useless, as it only gives one counter and I dont have a lot of creatures to make the second ability worthwhile. and while I agree on the flying/deathtouch, it doesnt fit in with the theme of the deck very well. Making a 20/20 pridemate have deathtouch isnt that useful in this context, Abzan Battle Priest is okay, but a lot of mana. I will consider it and Feat of Resistance , but Gods Willing might be better. I half agree with your land comment: 4x Sandsteppe Citadel is needed. but your reccomendation is for 20 lands, and for a 3 color deck with no ramp thats a bit difficult... Ill be sure to check out your deck. thanks for the input!

Hey NP!

You could do the 20 lands I recommended and add one basic land of each colour; make it 23 again. And yes, Abzan Ascendancy doesn't work too well in your case but in my deck, it happened to work a little better.. Maybe adding one High Sentinels of Arashin also? If anything with the lands, switch a Scoured Barrens for a forest :)

Dude, this deck is sweet... Love Soldier of the Pantheon I think he definitely deserves a spot.

Not sold on Awaken the Bear or Feed the Clan

Think about adding Heliod's Pilgrim to search up that Sunbond . (Maybe even a Spectra Ward to allow you to attack through creatures or Banishing Light to get rid of an opposing Erebos, God of the Dead )

How does this deck do against Thoughtseize and Hero's Downfall it might be worth putting in some Gods Willing

Finally Check your mana base, do you need 4 swamps? Maybe swap 2 out for another plains and a tap land?

@Xuhle I'd take Deicide sideboard over Banishing Light any day, though. And the cost isn't too much to put in a budget deck, honestly. Plus... I already have them. :P

Hello love the idea for the deck, I believe Resolute Archangel would be great in this deck. the amount of life gain from the ability plus the cheapness of the card would be a turning point in any match.

I think that Abzan Battle Priest belongs in this deck, I realize it is a 4 cost but it is a 4 cost that gives all of your creatures lifelink. I say all becuase bow, charm, sunbound should be getting counters onto all your dudes. the synergy is amazing and I'd lose a sunbound for him anyday

Abzan Ascendancy ? Puts +1/+1 on ALL your creatures when it enters, and gives you 1/1s when a creature you control dies.

Any commentary on removing Feed the Clan ?

@varygoode... Deicide is good for side board. But Banishing Light is good maindeck (also deals with a planeswalker). That was my thoughts.

I honestly think Kin-Tree Invocation , is messing up your curve. You 100% are never going to cast this on turn 2, you might as well just play a better 3 drop. Either play less or cut them completely. At best he's a 5/5 for 2 on turn 3... wait... what am I saying?

I would consider keeping Feed the Clan ! It has play tested very well especially against agrro decks. It has gotten me back ahead and pumped the necessary creatures.

Your mana base is solid, but a few more BW lifegain taplands would smooth it out a bit more.

Remove the whip.It affects too few of your creatures and you really don't want to whip back a 2/2 or a 0/5.

I was hoping for some discussion on Feed the Clan , actually. The older players don't like it, but the newer players do. What do you vets know that we don't? I've seen great things from it so far, since this deck almost always has a power 4 creature out starting around turn 5 or 6.

varygoode the thing is that life doesn't help you win the game. When you cast a spell that only gains you life, you're not affecting the board in any way. You're not actually doing anything. If your opponent has a better board than you, even if you have 30 or 40 life, you're still going to get slowly best to death. So while incidental lifegain is good (eg nyxfleece ram) , it's just never worth a card by itself.

In this case though the life gain is also a creature pump for 2 cmc.

crossfire727 Yeah I'm actually somewhat happy to keep it in this deck because of the combo with Sunbond .
