Heavy synergy and mana-efficiency through the use of the soulbond mechanic.

This is my first-deck that I've made in MTG, I normally just play with friends decks, or pre-mades of some variety. Any advice would be much appreciated!

Anyways, this deck heavily emphasizes on the 'soulbond' mechanic, having various creatures pair off with each-other in order to make them more cost effective. The primary soulbond variety that is utilized in this deck is simple power/toughness boosts, as seen in Trusted Forcemage, Druid's Familiar, and Wolfir Silverheart. When paired off, each of these become mana-effecient. However, Geist Trappers are a valuable defensive asset. Creature pairs are also provide access to the full effects of Joint Assault, allowing for a good bit of front-loaded damage early on.

Card combos are all fairly simple in this deck. Your priority cards are Champion of Lambholt and Wild Beastmaster, whose effects can be felt across the board with simple power increases (see Rancor). With a high power, Champion of Lambholt provides safe means of dishing out damage. Wild Beastmaster is similar in scope, utilizing her ability allow the rest of the board to deal significant damage, further increasing the bonus with multiples of her out on the board.

The primary weakness of this deck are targeted creature destruction, such as Murder and Abrupt Decay. With both being extremely common, this isn't the ideal deck for heavy competition, though I've had a fair share of fun with it. Dealing with flying creatures is also problematic. Considering every competitive deck has a fair amount of flying, this is also a colossal hole.

This deck also fits a budget rather well with some modifications. Cavern of Souls can be removed for additional Forests or more Rogue's Passages.

Well, all in all, I'm deciding to shelf this deck for purely casual play when the Innistrad block rotates out. I've no problem with it, I'm not the most competitve player, and a good game of Magic with friends is enough to make things worth it. However, I will continue to tweak this deck until that time comes around.

Main Board: +4 Cavern of Souls, +2 Descendants' Path, -4 Forest

This changes were all suggestions, attractive ones at that. I do not see a downside to taking Cavern of Souls, as it still provides mana, and mana fixing is of no problem with mono-colored decks. With the amount of humans if the deck, Descendants' Path is just a really nice card. I may be getting a bit too diverse here with the enchantments, but I'll leave that revision for another day.
