Devoted Druid + Quillspike
combo deck disguised as a typical mono-green aggro deck.
Quillspike- Becomes infinite when you get Devoted Druid out with him. Otherwise, keep your persist creatures like Kitchen Finks and Safehold Elite from ever truly dying.
Life's Legacy--Sacrifice Kitchen Finks enchanted with Rancor post-combat for more value than I can even handle. Also, if your opponent has too many blockers and you can't get your giant Quillspike through due to lack of Rancor, just put Quillspike at a safe size and sacrifice him to draw what you need.
Kalonian Tusker and
Leatherback Baloth
- Obvious staple creatures for a mono-green deck.
Commune with Nature
- It's like our version ofAncient Stirrings. Dig for that combo piece. Note the fact that you will lose the surprise factor if you reveal one of the combo pieces. If you are already going to win by playing Kitchen Finks and Kalonian Tusker Rancor beatdown, I recommend strategically grabbing more beatdown creatures and hoping to surprise them game two with a turn three combo win!
Here's the turn 3 win, by the way:
T1: Forest, Llanowar Elves
T2: Forest, Lightning Greaves, possibly
Commune with Nature
to dig for either Devoted Druid or Quillspike, depending on what you have.
T3: Forest, Devoted Druid, equip Lightning Greaves to Devoted Druid. Tap one remaining Forest, Llanowar Elves, and your haste Devoted Druid for Quillspike. Use Devoted Druid's ability to get a -1/-1 counter and untap. Tap her for mana, use Quillspike's ability to remove the counter. Repeat as many times as necessary. Devoted Druid should end up untapped. Tap her for one mana to play Rancor on Quillspike. Equip Lightning Greaves to Quillspike. Move to combat.
This deck is a fun one to pilot because it is so unexpected. This deck can win without the combo, unlike a lot of other Quillspike combo builds.
