I believe besides canning Daybreak Coronet, I may have to consider bringing the lands down to price range. I'm hoping for between $100-$150 USD for three entire mainboard.

If you want some ideas, you can check out my Azorius Aggro Auras deck. For a replacement Daybreak Coronet you might try out Eidolon of Countless Battles, Alpha Authority, or Forced Adaptation.

Eidolon of Countless Battles isn't a bad idea, and would be amazing with Ethereal Armor. Downside is 4cmc. Alpha Authority isn't really necessary and would only be beneficial for the second ability. Forced Adaptation is an excellent card, but I like Eidolon better.

Thanks and I'll check out your deck!

Honestly, there is no good replacement for Daybreak Coronet. If you go with 3 you'll probably be able to stay around your $150 budget. Sunpetal Grove and Razorverge Thicket are the best budget lands in my opinion. Brushland could replace Horizon Canopy, it's almost the same but a fraction of the price.

Glad I could help. +1 from me!

+1 from me too. :)

Also, as I will probably do myself, run Spirit Link instead of Keen Sense. It stacks with lifelink to gain double the life.

Interesting option. I'm a little worried about running out of fuel, though. But, I'm guessing boat loads of life can push the game into the next turn where I'll be drawing, anyways. I'll have to think about that.

That's what I'm thinking too. You also have potential additional card draw with Kor Spiritdancer. Plus the life gain will help with any damage your taking from your shocklands and fetchlands.

Made a bunch of changes. It's ridiculous the deck still runs over $200. If I buy non- NM, the price should be getting closer.

I don't think you need Flooded Strand, and I would ditch Gemstone Mine too. Just run some basic lands to go with Sunpetal Grove. That will knock off $80 right there!

I felt 4x Eidolon were a bit too heavy, so I went with two. I like the interaction with the fetchlands, Temple Garden and Sunpetal Grove. Fetch seems necessary, but is it possible to cut the financial cost even more via the lands? I like Gemstone Mine, obviously, but what could fit in place of it, budget-wise? Replace some fetches with...?

Lol, yeah, I know, but I hate basics in a non-mono deck.

Flooded Stand fetches Temple Garden, and I like that. I may end up having to deal with basics, but I won't give up, yet.

You could try out Temple of Plenty if you like scrying, or Vivid Grove, or Vivid Meadow.

True. I'm not really a fan of tap-lands, but something will have to give.

January 31, 2015 6:37 p.m.

You could compromise and only take out the fetches, leaving the Gemstone Mines, and run a few (3) tap-lands. Still saves you $50.

The problem with gemstone mine is that it sacs out. In my personal experience with Hexproof Aura, budget = some basic lands.

Done. What do you think about replacing a couple fetches for Reflecting Pool? Would shave off about $20

Rabid_Rabbit says... #20

You could, but for budget purposes I don't think you need them or flooded strand. Windswept Heath fetched Temple Garden, in which temple garden lets Sunpetal Grove come into play untapped. In my opinion it's a solid mana base for a budget and it will get you close to that $150 mark.

This deck runs very smoothly now, for $100. Thanks, you two.

Glad to help. Looks like you might have some room in your budget for a couple Daybreak Coronets after all. Also, thanks for checking out my deck. :)

Happy I could help and good luck with the deck!

I almost wouldn't mind getting rid of Kor Spiritdancer. Her buff and draws are excellent, but maybe another hexproof creature like Witchstalker or Troll Ascetic.

I remember about a month ago that I asked the forums here at Tapped Out if it's possible to avoid daybreak and got a bold no.

Good luck though and would love to hear updates.
