Thrasios, Triton Hero + Vial Smasher the Fierce Burn bears. the Original version or the version that inspired me to make this budget deck was cEDH slow bomb burn bears made by Mons aka. cEDH_TV. I really like building budget versions of fun expensive decks to see if they work and so, this is my attempt at building this.
First, I guess I should clarify, what I consider non-budget and that is anything over 45 $ that I do not already own. I own a Scalding Tarn so that will be included here, so no Gaea's Cradle, but instead we will have Itlimoc, Cradle of the Sun aka. Growing Rites of Itlimoc   which is in a way a better land as it can tap for mana even with no creatures on the battlefield. Vampiric Tutor is also out, in it's place I'll put Diabolic Tutor or Gamble or something. it goes without saying that all original duals are out too. Verdant Catacombs is a land I plan on buying, hence why it is in the maybe board, it is in the deck this is based on.
There are a few budget Bob options aka. Dark Confidant. I went with Phyrexian Arena, it is worse as you can't attack with it to deal damage. maybe Pain Seer is a better option, but you need to find a way to tap it to draw cards, being forced to attack every turn can be bad. in any case, the other options are in the maybe board for this slot so decide for yourselves what you want and switch accordingly. maybe you don't care that you have to attack, in which case Pain Seer is great. if you don't care about attacking at all, Phyrexian Arena is the better choice, it's harder to remove than a creature. Sin Prodder is the worst option of all of these, but can be a good political tool.
