You need more creatures and less spells. The chances of you getting creatures into the graveyard are much less with only 12. Also you need to have a counter answer to your soulflayer getting exiled, countered or destroyed by a spell. Like hexproofing it. I would recommend creatures such as Satyr Wayfinder to substitute for the a way to mill yourself. Spell like Ranger's Guile help protect it. And of course the Chromanticore + Soulflayer combo is ridiculous. The Despise and Icy Blast are good cards but they are taking up space where more creatures could be.

dexxter7 Thanks for the response. I really wanted to make a Chromantiflayer deck but Chromanticore is rotating out soon. Although it's a cheap card, I wanted to make something that survives rotation which I believe is October 2nd. (source: http://whatsinstandard.com/)

Ive replaced Despise and Icy Blast and replaced them with Ranger's Guile and Satyr Wayfinder respectively. I don't really like Satyr Wayfinder, I used it in the past and I find that the lack of freedom to take what you want from the top 'X' cards can lead to multiple copies of Soulflayer ending up in the graveyard. Should I add cards that get creatures back from the graveyard? I was thinking about Foul Renewal. With the amount of delve cards being cast, there is a good chance it is killing a big creature. In most cases it is just dealing 3 damage. I don't know, just an idea. I'll see if I can fit it in anywhere.

Maybe even run a hexproof guy so the soulflayer can be 100% protected?

Luke-Vianna: Do you have any in mind? The only ones in standard that are any good on thier own are Bassara Tower Archer, Sagu Mauler, Silumgar, the Drifting Death, Sylvan Caryatid and Xathrid Slyblade. There are others but these are the only good ones in my opinion. Bassara Tower Archer is double green and Sylvan Caryatid is expensive to say it's rotating out shortly. I could replace Yasova Dragonclaw for Sagu Mauler. It has trample which was why I was running Yasova Dragonclaw + its good ability. Yeah, I think I'll do that for now, but if there are any alternatives, be sure to let me know :)

I'm planning on building a similar deck, but using morphs, and it's all Tarkir block: Not "Esper Dragons!" $20 All KoT Block!. Check out the list and comments which I found helpful if you'd like some ideas!

triproberts12: I never thought about using morphs as a way to get cards into the grave! They do create that lose:lose scenario for your opponent. Kill the morph and you get more abilities on your Soulflayer. Don't kill the morph and as you say, 'aggro win'. I used to use Ruthless Ripper as a way of getting deathtouch on Soulflayer. Coupled with a Gurmag Swiftwing makes an unstoppable beast! First strike/deathtouch! It'd basically read, 'does not die in combat'! Love your deck though! Now I don't think I'm gonna be playing esper colors.

I'm going to see if I can switch a few things around though. I'm definately considering Silumgar, the Drifting Death for hexproof and Ruthless Ripper for deathtouch. As you said on your post, trample is not too useful when you have a lot of flyers. If you can get control of the board you will win regardless.

Do you recon it is worth putting in one or two copies of Shieldhide Dragon even though it isn't going to be flipped. I'm just thinking the lifelink would be really good, but it doesn't seem like a good idea if I'm not playing white.

Actually, disregard that last paragraph. What I will do, is ignore white for now. Then after rotation, I will see what Magic Origins brings and then rebuild as W/U/B. Thanks for the feedback, and I really like your deck! (+1)

Also, I'm definitely getting my self some ugin's fate Ruthless Ripper's! They look sweet!

Either Thassa, God of the Sea or Phenax, God of Deception could work well here. Gets you indestructible and both have abilities that help you make sure creatures get into your graveyard faster. Fun idea for a deck especially at the price. +1

RightyLefty: Thanks for the feedback. I like the idea of Thassa and Phenax a lot actually, but they will be rotating out shortly. They are very cheap though and it is very tempting to get Phenax, God of Deception. I will not be using thassa however. It is good graveyard fodder but doesn't function on her own. I have such little blue devotion enablers. At least Phalanx will be able to dump 7 cards into the graveyard if it is in play.

If any one is using this deck list, put some copies of Phenax, God of Deception in place of Sultai Ascendancy and adjust the lands as such. I personally will not be changing this due to them rotating out soon, but thanks for the suggestion.

fannychmelar Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, I want to keep this deck Tarkir Block only if possible as it will survive rotation. Im pretty new to magic so I don't have many of the older cards from Nyx, Born of the Gods or theros. Commune with the Gods is the only card that doesn't fit the above requirement but I will replace it with something like Taigam's Scheming or Scout the Borders.

fannychmelar : Yeah, I was thinking about that. Tasigur, the Golden Fang would be very good for this deck. I don't have any copies of it yet but I will test it out when I get some. Would you say, two copies in the place of Belltoll Dragon and one or two in the sideboard? I think that sounds good.

I reckon 2 mainboard replacing belltoll dragon I dont reckon you need 2 in the side board

fannychmelar : Yeah. That sounds good. I'm gonna do some eBay sniping, see if I can get some cheap :) Thanks for the Input, I'll proxy some up for testing and let you know how it goes :)
